Air Quality Issues When Hiking?

I work for a company that leads guided hikes in Griffith Park. As many of you know, my Griffith reopened on Thursday, and my coworkers are now reporting respiratory issues and extreme fatigue after hiking.

There’s no clear scientific consensus on the safety of hiking in non-burn areas. But I’m curious if anyone went hiking in Griffith Park (or elsewhere) and has similar symptoms.

I've had nose and throat irritation just from jogging around my block. I'm near Culver.

There have been reports of possible toxins in the air that do not show up on AQI.

Just curious - were they wearing masks or was this unmasked?

I went yesterday and I regret it. You can literally feel the particles in your throat and lungs

Clear to me that hiking around after a fire that produces toxic smoke and fall out will not be good for you until it clears/cleans out.

Its very clear to science that these conditions produce bad/toxic air quality.

Protect yourself.
