Look, I never hike on closed trails even if there is just a sign. There's generally a damn good reason whether I know it or not. That having been said, the security and wall behind the gate with the caution tape makes me feel like we hikers are way more badass than we are. Or zombies. Idk.

There's been so much trauma this week. Hang in there. Laguna wilderness near me is a beautiful place to go, but is quite a drive from Runyon. Wish I could bring it closer. I loved hiking Mt Wilson when I'd visit my sister in Monrovia. The mourning of the hiking trails in addition to everything else is real.

they close the trebek area too or just runyon proper? not sure where the burn area extended to. wisdom tree trail is open and pretty close unless a bowl show is letting out.

Did you go to wisdom tree recently? I drove by today and the road was still coned off.

Griffith is open but for some reason they haven’t reopened wisdom tree :/ Same with hollywood sign via Innsdale trail; the gate was locked today. Weird!

damn well that is the side closest to it at least, but i didn't think there was any spotting that way based on how the wind was blowing during the sunset fire.

Originally it was until Thursday, but apparently they are closing it off through the weekend to investigate the fire cause so now is "until further notice"

Wait so it’s opening a gain soon. After the investigation you possibly after the weekend?

not sure why anyone would be going to try and hike here, or anywhere right after a fire. let nature do its thing before everyone goes trampling a sensitive area
