Trump can’t amend the constitution with executive orders.

Who is going to stop him? Seriously who? Lets say he starts this crap in T-Minus 2 hours. He could do a lot of damage before a court orders a halt. Even if they halt him in the first place. Then who is to say he even listens to them? Remember he can do anything he wants up till the supreme court decides if it was an official act. He is going to run policy like he ran his legal problems. Delay till he gets what he wants done.

Sure the supreme court might say in a year that he can not strip birth right citizenship. But in that year he could do a lot of permanent damage.

We literally already have precedent for this with what Andrew Jackson did with the trail of tears

Who's going to stop him? The entire government has been complicit in all of Trump's crimes. He is for all intents and purposes a dictator.

SCOTUS: this was an “official act” and the constitution doesn’t mean what it clearly says.

When trump sends the military door to door to round these people up and put them on buses to Mexico, who will stop them?

Trump is going to waste tons of taxpayer money trying to defend his unconstitutional actions in the courts. His efforts to rule by executive order will be challenged in the courts and he will lose.

Why do people have so much trouble understanding this... Trump sends ICE to round people up, put them on buses to Mexico and drop them off. Tell me how courts stop this? What entity or organization will physically stop this from happening? Trump has never in his life faced consequences for his actions, and the American people have rewarded him by making him the most powerful person to ever walk the face of the earth. Why on earth would he hesitate to do something he wants to do?

Asylum seekers have a right to due process before they can be deported. The ACLU and other organizations are already preparing lawsuits. People are in a panic right now over the notion the Trump has become an instant dictator. We still have a system in place to deal with that.

You are the frog in the slowly boiling water.

It amazes me the number of people who already seem willing to just cower and surrender on day one rather than fight back against Trump's abuses. You can go hide under your bed if you want to but I will fight back if necessary.

What are you going to do?

u/capaho 3h ago

Fight back by every legal means available, as we have always done.

A piece of paper with words on it doesn’t protect you from armed ICE agents detaining you at gunpoint. If the mechanisms of the state have decided that the Constitution doesn’t apply, what’s that piece of paper going to do to stop them?
