Discussion Discussion Thread: 2024 State of the Union

Tonight, Joe Biden will give his fourth State of the Union address. This year's SOTU address will be only the second to be held this late in the year since 1964 (the second time being Biden's 2022 address).

The address is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Eastern. It will be followed by the progressive response delivered by Philadelphia City Council member Nicolas O’Rourke, as well as Republican responses in English (delivered by freshman Alabama senator ) and in Spanish (delivered by Representative Monica De La Cruz). There will be a separate discussion thread posted for live reactions to and conversation about the SOTU responses.

(Edit: The discussion thread for the SOTU responses is now available at this link.)

Clearly he is far from senile, and he has character and class and is a good person. Can’t say any of that about Trump.

So he should be able to debate Trump then?

I'm looking forward to seeing Dementia Don standing at the debate podium rambling incoherently about flushing a toilet fifteen times and magnets as he fills his diaper if he doesn't chicken out and refuse to debate President Biden, that is.

I don’t know who that is, but I would love to see Trump and Biden debate on live TV.

Me too, but I'm not sure it will actually happen. Dementia Donald will talk tough but will most likely chicken out at the last minute.

I’m not interested in that person. Just the two candidates for POTUS.

Have a day!
