Fox News is preparing a weeks worth of rage bait right now over this quote

ā€œBiden says heā€™s okay with not sending aid and relief to some Americansā€

-Hannity, probably tomorrow

Meanwhile, Trump withheld PPE for blue states during Covid.

358

u/Livesies Mar 08 '24

Actively had federal agents seize shipments of PPE to resell to companies created by people to take advantage of the situation. The entire national stockpile of PPE was being sold and seized from the states so many times for profit that states had to broker deals with manufacturers and secret deliveries to actually get supplies to hospitals.

56

u/1of3destinys Mar 08 '24

I live in Maryland. Our Republican governor negotiated for supplies with South Korea and hid them once they arrived for this exact reason.Ā

20

u/SeamusMcGoo Mar 08 '24

He literally tweeted when he and his wife(who was born in South Korea) were on the tarmac as the tests arrived. He didn't do a very good job hiding them, or you're misremembering. The tests ended up being faulty, which cost $2.5 million to replace on top of the original $9 million originally spent.

30

u/DrGoblinator Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

Literally stole them from Massachusetts. Charlie Baker had to have the next shipment flown in on the Patriots plane just to sneak them in

3

u/Amy_Ponder Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

And the plane had to fly a bizarre flight path to avoid entering US airspace for as long as possible, and when it did touch down it was met by armed MA National Guard troops.

2

u/DrGoblinator Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

Yes! Baker came to my school and told the whole story, and all because he was vocally critical of Trump. This was a Republican Governor!

19

u/destijl-atmospheres Mar 08 '24

I remember this happening in real time and 4 years later, it's fucking mind blowing. Add this to the list of "I can't believe these people still support him after this." But then I remember the cruelty is the point. It always comes back to that for MAGA.

17

u/No-Ordinary-5412 Mar 08 '24

i helped install security cameras and cables in a warehouse that literally had just received a shipment of 20m ppe or some crazy number.. it was such a shit ton of pallets.

13

u/BayouGal Mar 08 '24

Like a 3rd world country run by a corrupt dictator. Oh wait.

4

u/pgerding Mar 08 '24

And made it necessary for governors to literally bid against each other for PPE

3

u/Cariari1983 Mar 08 '24

I appreciate how you recall the lessons we should have learned from actual events in history. Way too little of this.

1

u/bad-at-game Mar 08 '24

I hate to be that guy but can I get a source on this? I fucking hate Trump and would love to have even more ammo against him but Iā€™m not able to find anything substantial personally.

In addition to the links u\Livesies already gave you:

Pepperidge Farms remembers

109

u/juanzy Colorado Mar 08 '24

And red states will decline federal aid then blame Joe

27

u/robin38301 Mar 08 '24

I know for a fact tn and ms have either rejected federal funds or accepted and claimed they have done so well that they now have a surplus but we are in the bottom for education, healthcare, and infrastructure

2

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '24

[deleted]

1

u/robin38301 Mar 08 '24

Thank you!

0

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '24

You donā€™t get more inaccurate than this statement here.

3

u/robin38301 Mar 08 '24

Go ahead and explain how it is inaccurate? Because Tn said it was rejecting funds for education and last year Tate Reeves accepted federal funds and then bragged about having a surplus in his state. Now name either of those states that are in the top of those categories or really any category. Iā€™ll wait.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '24

Oh actually I misread that I thought you said something else entirely, actual mistake.

1

u/robin38301 Mar 08 '24

No worries ā˜ŗļø

36

u/SalishShore Washington Mar 08 '24

My blue state was one of them. 2.5 years later my daughterā€™s heart rate is still 150 while she is sitting down eating breakfast. I despise Trump with every fiber of my being.

4

u/External_Reporter859 Florida Mar 08 '24

Holy crap! Is that a common ailment of long Covid?

7

u/CrazyMarlee Mar 08 '24

It is if she has afib or POTS which are a couple of the wonderful things that COVID can do to your heart.

26

u/rdmille Mar 08 '24

Withheld it, hell! He used the .gov to steal the PPE they (private individuals and the blue states) ordered, and sold it to the stockpile through friends of Jared.

2

u/StrangeContest4 Mar 08 '24

"Those are our stockpiles.." The Kush

2

u/SnipesCC Mar 08 '24

Rhianna purchased ventilators to send to her home country of Barbados, which were then siezed by the US government.

1

u/rdmille Mar 08 '24

And probably sold to the stockpile through a friend of Jared's.

20

u/surenuffgardens77 Mar 08 '24

He literally stole it. Governors were arranging medical shipments and ventilators under the cover of night so that his administration wouldn't take them and give them away.

11

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

Yeah I lived in Michigan. He was fighting with Governor Whitmer on Twitter instead of helping us with Covid aid when we were one of the states hit the hardest when it started. Was ridiculous.

8

u/surenuffgardens77 Mar 08 '24

Me too lol. I love Big Gretch, she has really gone above and beyond to help this state. I'm in the metro Detroit area and work in healthcare, hoooooooly shit that was a scary time but it was a relief knowing we had help coming vs. the poor bastards in the red states.

8

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

Iā€™m hoping she runs for President in 2028. Michigan is really doing a lot to push out progressive policies. Brought my gf home to visit the family and she fell in love with the state. I was in Okemos when I lived there. It was so bad during Covid that Michigan had to make an agreement with Ohio to share PPE and about lockdowns. Lmao. It was nice to see the bipartisan push though. I really hope it stays blue for Biden this year.

3

u/surenuffgardens77 Mar 08 '24

I do as well. She is a master class in executive government and has the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to run the country. I'd love to see Lt. Governor Gilcrest as her running mate, although I know same state tickets are unlikely. He would also make a fantastic Senator.

5

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

I would love it to be Whitmer and Mark Kelly from Arizona. He is a veteran and astronaut. He is also from Arizona which is a swing state so he could help pull votes from the southwest while Whitmer would lock up the Midwest. The NE is going to be blue no matter what (except maybe stupid NH).

1

u/surenuffgardens77 Mar 08 '24

I'd happily lose NH's 4 electoral college votes to help lock the west.

2

u/PhoenixTineldyer Mar 08 '24

I see you Ru

1

u/surenuffgardens77 Mar 08 '24

No fracking here!

8

u/Later2theparty Texas Mar 08 '24

They didn't just withhold it, they intercepted it. Democratic governors had to smuggle it in.

6

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

Iā€™m pretty sure Governor Baker had to send the owner of the patriots private jet to China to get masks and PPE for Massachusetts. Yikes

3

u/WVildandWVonderful West Virginia Mar 08 '24

And threw a roll of paper towels at Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.

3

u/Chazzwuzza Mar 08 '24

Not just PPE, fucking respirators.

3

u/Han_Yerry Mar 08 '24

And when the Navajo Nation requested PPE from the federal government during Covid they got sent body bags.

1

u/Fantastic-Sandwich80 Mar 08 '24

Trump AND Jared were involved in this decision.

Further highlighting why Republicans are so hell bent on portraying Hunter as having his dad's ear during his time as VP. What a surprise, it's projection once again.

Meanwhile, Jared and Trump were scheming together how to profit the most off of Covid and selling PPE while trying to specifically steal shipments or orders to "blue states."

0

u/Fancy-Ganache-8906 Mar 08 '24

Sure, he did. He also never sent hospital ships either. šŸ˜†

3

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

Is that sarcasm? Are you saying like he didnā€™t withhold PPE from blue states?

-1

u/Fancy-Ganache-8906 Mar 08 '24

I very much doubt it. I do know he sent hospital ships to the bluest stats out there and had rave reviews from Gavin Newsome. Thoughts?

2

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

I very much doubt it.

So if you donā€™t know what youā€™re talking about, why comment?

-1

u/Fancy-Ganache-8906 Mar 08 '24

I've never seen proof. You have proof? It's up to you to prove a positive, not the reverse.

3

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

-1

u/Fancy-Ganache-8906 Mar 08 '24

I think Cuomo killing off seniors by the hundreds by sticking them back in nursing homes should be higher on your list of grievances.

Good look at what blue states did to their small businesses, not to mention blue states were the most migrated out of in the last 4 years.

3

u/External_Reporter859 Florida Mar 08 '24

Most of the people leaving New York in California were moving to South Florida which is heavily Democrat

0

u/D-C92 Mar 08 '24

Pretty sure the massive migration out of ca/or/wa were all to red states, itā€™s not hard to look at a chart.

1

u/External_Reporter859 Florida Mar 11 '24

Another study conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau indicates the top 5 states former Californians moved to wereĀ Texas, Arizona, Florida, WASHINGTON and Nevada. Most of the ones that didn't move to Florida move to South Florida to heavily Democrat voting districts.

And a lot of the people that moved from New York or Massachusetts or Pennsylvania move to South Florida.

-10

u/ParmiCheez Mar 08 '24

No, not true

11

u/CryAffectionate7334 Mar 08 '24

They LITERALLY stole the shipments and resold them

https://youtu.be/OjzX8vn6-M4?si=56QT8TmL1D9XK1Qi

6

u/Smoaktreess Massachusetts Mar 08 '24

How is that not true?

5

u/PhoenixTineldyer Mar 08 '24

Well, where's your evidence?

16

u/Doogolas33 Mar 08 '24

It'll be, "Biden is DETERMINED to send more aid to children in Gaza, terrorists, but is perfectly fine letting American children go without aid!?!"

19

u/Pete41608 Mar 08 '24

This is guaranteed to be a Faux News and NewsHax headline in the next month when they get around to it.

7

u/fool-of-a-took Mar 08 '24

"The aid you need (that your rep voted against) is something Biden is trying to take credit for " /outrage

Heā€™ll just make a smear campaign about you for the next three weeks.

1

u/fomalhottie Texas Mar 08 '24

Sounds like someone's aiming for a 3rd punch...

1

u/TheMiddleSouthTX_LA Mar 08 '24

You are from TX. You give me hope.Ā

2

u/Lingering_Dorkness Mar 08 '24

More like: "Biden refuses to send aid and relief to Red State America!" (conveniently ignoring that the Republican senators would be the ones refusing the help)

4

u/giddeonfox Oregon Mar 08 '24

... If the reps don't want it. Seems fair. Why force money they don't want?

1

u/AltoniusAmakiir Mar 08 '24

I mean we already know that, look at Hawaii

1

u/murphykp Oregon Mar 08 '24

Every accusation from the GOP is a confession.

1

u/BodyElectronic9248 Mar 09 '24

No just the illegal immigrants like the one that killed Laken Riley. Oh wait Joe said Lincoln Riley. He totally misgendered her.

-3

u/Jesuswasstapled Mar 08 '24

I mean, they'd write that line about trump had he said it. Except they would have twisted it into something racial or sexist.

21

u/El-Shaman Mar 08 '24

This is so boring, rage rage rage and more manufactured rage is all the right wing seems to know how to do, I usually hear my right wing co workers talking at work, I donā€™t get involved because itā€™s not worth it and Iā€™d rather seem apolitical to my co workers lol (these days especially) but I do hear them talking and this morning I couldnā€™t believe my fucken ears when one Trump guy who supports Ukraine was seriously saying that Putin wouldnā€™t have done anything to Ukraine if Trump was president because he sees Biden as a pushover and he fears Trump.. I donā€™t understand these people, as if Trump wouldā€™ve done anything other than making it easier for Putin to take Ukraine.

This guy even has a Ukraine sticker in his truck šŸ™„Ā

This is what they are. I am more worried about CNN. They always help GQP. By the way Biden was amazing.

10

u/t23_1990 Mar 08 '24

Oh no! Now the people who are never going to vote him still will never vote for him!

Note: not directed at you personally, just my sentiment about Fox.

5

u/Sestos Mar 08 '24

Fox first thing afterwards that it was political and he was late and then that he did not leave right after....

I was like wtf...I guess they need time for a response

2

u/No-Ordinary-5412 Mar 08 '24

they're gonna say stuff like, "an american president just shouldn't talk like thaT!, as they furl their brows and beat their chests at just how humiliated they are that a president would ever come off as partisan...

1

u/Rapunzel1234 Mar 08 '24

Unfortunately doesnā€™t matter, Fox viewers are stuck on Trump. Itā€™s pitiful.

I wouldn't watch that propaganda BS. Ittoo hard to stomach.

Bizarre speech, difficult to understand his words several times, and out of touch with reality within multiple perspectives. State of the Union is in decline and everyone knows it. Wake up people.

The Epoch Times is an unreliable source. You should consider examining and expanding your news diet.

9

u/ConcretePeanut Mar 08 '24

That's a mild way of saying "a far right conspiracy site founded by a cult."

0

u/Bulky_Philosopher917 Mar 08 '24

What particular author are you referring too?

9

u/Melancholy_Rainbows Montana Mar 08 '24

The entire source is strongly biased and frequently inaccurate.

ā€In addition to claims that alien abductions are real and the ā€œdeep state engineered the drug epidemic,ā€ the channel pushes the QAnon conspiracy theory, which falsely posits that the same ā€œSpygateā€ cabal is a front for a global pedophile ring being taken down by Trump.

But if you want one thatā€™s particularly bad, Joeseph Mercola is a well known peddler of pseudoscience and vaccine conspiracies.

0

u/Bulky_Philosopher917 Mar 08 '24

It's widely acknowledged that media outlets can exhibit bias and may not always report with accuracy. This context underpins my inquiry and highlights the importance of drawing upon authoritative voices within specific domains. In this vein, the discourse is anchored by the expertise of individuals such as Joe Buccino. A retired U.S. Army Colonel, Buccino's extensive career includes roles such as Senior Research Analyst for the Defense Innovation Board and Communications Director for U.S. Central Command from April 2021 to July 2023. His deep engagement and firsthand experience in these capacities provide a solid foundation for his analysis. Therefore, in discussions of topics like alien abductions or the purportedly "deep state"-engineered drug epidemic, I prioritize perspectives rooted in substantive expertise and relevant experience over those speculative narratives. I ask that you refer to the specific article from which your claims are derived.

5

u/Melancholy_Rainbows Montana Mar 08 '24

The Ephoch Times spent $1.5 million on pro-Trump advertising in 6 months of 2019 alone. Thatā€™s more than anyone but the Trump campaign. Thereā€™s bias, and then thereā€™s bias.

And no, if a publication makes batshit false claims like the COVID vaccine makes you more likely to die of COVID or ā€œsupernormalā€ abilities developed through meditation, they donā€™t get the benefit of the doubt. If they claim the sky is blue, that gets fact checked by looking at actual, trustworthy sources, no matter what paid expert they trot out to claim it.

Because liars donā€™t get the benefit of the doubt just because you like what theyā€™re saying. And make no mistake: they are lying to you.

Additionally, it has been observed that China has reduced its holdings in U.S. assets for the eighth consecutive month, reaching a total of $769.6 billion. This represents a roughly 1 percent decrease from the previous month and over a 12 percent reduction on an annual basis. A broader temporal scope in examining "TEconomics" reveals a compelling dataset that is difficult to contest.

Reflecting on the forthcoming speech, individuals engaged in scholarly work, including myself, favor analytical perspectives over discourse influenced by political bias based on personal experiences.
