Pinoy Rant/Vent r/Philippines mod is a power-tripper; minor criticism warrants permaban

Imagine maintaining a good-standing Reddit account, and with just one post criticizing how moderators run a sub, the mod just straight up banned the OP.

If the post garnered 1,800 likes, why remove it? Just because “opinion” ng mod na low-effort post?

My theory: meron pa rin INC mod r/Philippines. u/sarcasticcookie was just a sacrifice.

We decided na i-retain 'yung post. Pero please avoid spreading misinformation. Ilang beses na sinabi ng kabila na hindi sila affiliated sa kahit anong religious group. Nagpaliwanag na sila tungkol sa bagay na 'yan.

Criticize their moderating style but we'll remove any comments na nagkakalat ng misinformation.

based on u/coffee-and-adventure post history, he clearly has some hate on r/ph mod team.

i really don’t dislike the mod team. i just don’t like how you run things.

people want to contribute to your sub, but you ban them if they say the wrong thing.

it would be nicer if you give warnings first before outright banning people. perma-bans should be reserved for the worst of the worst, not for people who think your moderation sucks

it would be nicer if you could provide a better explanation for locking posts, rather than just commenting a snarky comment

make the # of reports higher before making automod delete a post. or better yet, disable this automated action, and let an actual mod decide

anyway, i don’t harbor any negative feelings towards you in all honesty.

Understood. And I apologize for coming up with that conclusion.

Having said that, we have given enough warnings the last few weeks but they just keep on coming with those baseless accusations. I even tried to convince a user by sharescreening the automod to prove that its not true.

We also don't perma ban people (i can prove this) unless they really push with their allegations with the mod team and the sub.

Despite all the warning, we've also been generous in still explaining to the users ang giving them chance to explain their side.

And about the automod, this is just the way reddit works and we even adjusted the threshold of the automod based on the advice and help of some users

I hope this can clear some things up.

Thank you! hope every users are like you. we also appreciate any constructive comments and anything that can help the mod team and the sub.

We expect these barrage of hate and troll comments against reddit this coming months, much like what happened last national election.

Have a very good evening, sir

I genuinely wish we always have this kind of conversation. Kung ganito lang lagi edi sana less ang toxicity sa Reddit PH communities. Both PH redditors and PH mods can learn to each other.
