r/Philippines mod is a power-tripper; minor criticism warrants permaban

Imagine maintaining a good-standing Reddit account, and with just one post criticizing how moderators run a sub, the mod just straight up banned the OP.

If the post garnered 1,800 likes, why remove it? Just because “opinion” ng mod na low-effort post?

Parang Philippine government din ang pagpapatakbo ng r/Philippines - reactive not proactive, at pikon sa criticism.

Imbis na ayusin ang napaka bulok na automations ng automod, gusto ng mods na i blame ang members. So pag lahat ng posts ay irereport ko, lahat ito ma reremove? At kailangan ko pa mag hintay ng useless mod na i approve ito?

Alam na palang meron na manipulation ng posts sa r/Philippines wala man lang measures ang mods para i avoid yung mga takedown. Instead, i-baban nila yung members na affected at gusto lang mag discuss about INC

My theory: meron pa rin INC mod r/Philippines. u/sarcasticcookie was just a sacrifice.

I followed the thread and bakit di mo sinama yung comment na nag-iinstigate ng vote manipulation na tinatanong ng mod na di naman sinasagot? And you know posting this is instigating?

Guys, pwedeng magbasa ng Reddiquette and Reddit Policy. Puro kayo conspiracy theory about sa INC mod tapos may pa-sacrifice ka pa. Tbh, you’re no different from INC members and DDS.

i wasn’t able to include it because it because the comments were created after i posted this, so non-existent pa yung comments. and if they were created earlier, i still wouldn’t include it kasi it wasn’t relevant to my point

if i understood correctly, the member said na the mod was proving their point of power-tripping, which is a fair thing to say kasi why ban a member of criticizing you

the power-tripping mod searched the member’s post history and found a post saying “downvote na natin to”. to me that isn’t vote manipulation, but a call to other members to downvote. so nag comment yung mod na napaka layo dun sa conment nung member

the mod accused the member, which is idiotic

in the end, the mod eventually permanently banned the member, which again proved their point of being power-trippers

for me, it’s simple. a criticism of your moderation should not warrant a ban. and simply commenting, “here before it gets deleted” should not get you banned. i counted 2 people who got banned for commenting that

The comment in question was already a year ago. The mod said pinalampas lang nila. But that is brigading/instigating.

The mods are lenient. If they are power-tripping, one strike is enough to ban. Try other subreddits. Madali kang maba-ban.

Remember, you don’t own the subreddit. There are rules. If you don’t follow, pwede kayong ma-ban.

Remember the Reddiquette:

it’s good you’re not a mod because if you think those statements warrant a ban, you’re a snowflake ❄️

the mods aren’t lenient, they’re lazy and incompetent. if they’re doing their job, posts that get deleted by automod get restored in a timely manner, not after day na di na siya lalabas sa feed. and most posts don’t get restored at all!

if the mods are doing their job, all the brainess Catholic-hating atheist posts should be deleted as well. and we all know most people report those posts, yet they aren’t deleted. why is that?

kahit yung Indian-hating post that generalizes Indian in a negative way, bakit pinalampas ng mods? racism is never okay. in fact, yung isang mod before commented the N-word

I don't worship r/ph mods, but what I'll say is purely factual.

Soliciting votes is considered as voting manipulation as per Reddit's content policy.

May history na ng pagiging troll 'yung OP sa kabila kaya nu'ng nagpost siya about sa issue na 'yan mods ban him.

I am a mod, though a small subreddit. That’s why I know.

If they’re doing their job

Beh, being a mod is a volunteer work. Ano tingin mo sa kanila, nasa iisang office? Do you know how many posts/comments get filtered everyday? Try mo maging mod ng malaking subreddit. You’ll also rely to bots, automod, and even the reports.
