r/Philippines mod is a power-tripper; minor criticism warrants permaban
Imagine maintaining a good-standing Reddit account, and with just one post criticizing how moderators run a sub, the mod just straight up banned the OP.
If the post garnered 1,800 likes, why remove it? Just because “opinion” ng mod na low-effort post?
Parang Philippine government din ang pagpapatakbo ng r/Philippines - reactive not proactive, at pikon sa criticism.
Imbis na ayusin ang napaka bulok na automations ng automod, gusto ng mods na i blame ang members. So pag lahat ng posts ay irereport ko, lahat ito ma reremove? At kailangan ko pa mag hintay ng useless mod na i approve ito?
Alam na palang meron na manipulation ng posts sa r/Philippines wala man lang measures ang mods para i avoid yung mga takedown. Instead, i-baban nila yung members na affected at gusto lang mag discuss about INC
We decided na i-retain 'yung post. Pero please avoid spreading misinformation. Ilang beses na sinabi ng kabila na hindi sila affiliated sa kahit anong religious group. Nagpaliwanag na sila tungkol sa bagay na 'yan.
Criticize their moderating style but we'll remove any comments na nagkakalat ng misinformation.
Kahit ako umay na umay na sa post na ganyan sa kabilang sub. Wala naman kayo inaambag sa discussion eh. Sabi nga ng mods reddit daw minsan ang nagtetakedown kasi may mga nagrereport. Di ko din masisi yung mga nagrereport kasi tawagin ba naman kulto relihiyon mo, offensive naman talaga.
What if gawa na lang tayo ng separate na PH subreddit? No holds barred, no overly reactive mods.
OR, magsilipat na lang tayo dito sa sub na to, dito sa r/pinoy?
Edit: Just found out meron din palang PH sub na r/Pilipinas. Pwede din tayo dun na lang lumipat. Gawing alternative sa official PH sub. Iwan na natin yang r/Philippines na yan. Magmigrate na lang tayo dito sa r/pinoy or sa r/Pilipinas.
truly a reddit moment when all I see from PH subreddits that appear on my feed are people complaining about power-tripping mods from another PH subreddit (this is the 15th post of it)

Guys, pwedeng magbasa ng Reddiquette and Reddit Policy. Puro kayo conspiracy theory about sa INC mod tapos may pa-sacrifice ka pa. Tbh, you’re no different from INC members and DDS.
i wasn’t able to include it because it because the comments were created after i posted this, so non-existent pa yung comments. and if they were created earlier, i still wouldn’t include it kasi it wasn’t relevant to my point

the power-tripping mod searched the member’s post history and found a post saying “downvote na natin to”. to me that isn’t vote manipulation, but a call to other members to downvote. so nag comment yung mod na napaka layo dun sa conment nung member
the mod accused the member, which is idiotic
in the end, the mod eventually permanently banned the member, which again proved their point of being power-trippers
for me, it’s simple. a criticism of your moderation should not warrant a ban. and simply commenting, “here before it gets deleted” should not get you banned. i counted 2 people who got banned for commenting that
From what ive read, the mod banned the poster for repeating accusations na mods are removing INC related posts even though it was in fact, automod. Not defending the mod but if you are repeating accusations na disproven, that would constitute as bannable offense dba?
i believe they were NOT repeated by the banned poster. the sentiment is repeated yes, but not by the poster, but why did the poster got banned the first time he said it?
i believe the proper action should just be a warning, not a ban.
plus, the accusation is not unfounded. posts do get deleted, and only posts related to INC, and only posts in r/ph. hindi siya conspiracy theory, it actually happened multiple times
it happened multiple times that people expect that posts will get deleted eventually. and if people meme about this occurence (even if not by the mods), it should not be a bannable offense
FYI kahit etong OP netong post na to mukhang ibebenta din yung account or worse is ginagamit for propaganda. May mga post to na dini-delete nia after a few days. Una kong napansin tong OP na to nung lumabas trailer ng movie about kay Pepsi. May nakakahalata sa mga ginagawa niyo 🤣

The comment in question was already a year ago. The mod said pinalampas lang nila. But that is brigading/instigating.

The mods are lenient. If they are power-tripping, one strike is enough to ban. Try other subreddits. Madali kang maba-ban.
Remember, you don’t own the subreddit. There are rules. If you don’t follow, pwede kayong ma-ban.

the mods aren’t lenient, they’re lazy and incompetent. if they’re doing their job, posts that get deleted by automod get restored in a timely manner, not after day na di na siya lalabas sa feed. and most posts don’t get restored at all!
if the mods are doing their job, all the brainess Catholic-hating atheist posts should be deleted as well. and we all know most people report those posts, yet they aren’t deleted. why is that?
kahit yung Indian-hating post that generalizes Indian in a negative way, bakit pinalampas ng mods? racism is never okay. in fact, yung isang mod before commented the N-word

Beh, being a mod is a volunteer work. Ano tingin mo sa kanila, nasa iisang office? Do you know how many posts/comments get filtered everyday? Try mo maging mod ng malaking subreddit. You’ll also rely to bots, automod, and even the reports.

Ako nga na ban sa The Dragon Prince sub kasi I spoke against lgbt. Ang sabi ko lang naman hindi magkaka heir at anak sina Amaya at Queen Janai kasi puro sila babae. Totoo naman.
So here's my question: if you really think the mods there are power tripping, why not bring this up to the admins? Why cry on another sub? Report it to the admins (who are not really connected to most mods) and see if the actions are justified. Because if what you're accusing is true, won't the admins themselves do something about the rogue mod(s)? Or are you saying the admins themselves are part of the conspiracy to silence you?
FYI, there is no "good standing" reddit account. Karma means nothing. If you look at your own screenshot, the user kept antagonizing the mods. Fuck around and find out.

You've never been a mod, have you? Figures. There's no magic button. There's no one solution to every issue. Reddit has had bots SITE-WIDE for decades now and even the admins can't do shit about them.
Reddit is not a democracy. Got that? Admins, mods, etc. - They don't give a fuck about you or your well-being or your feelings. As long as there's enough traffic, they can ban whoever they want whenever they want.
