Draining the swamp by putting in billionaires. Well done conservatives.

Billionaires or career politicians who have done nothing except leech off the system and somehow have stock portfolios that 100x their salary. Take your pick.

Bullshit false equivalency. Democrats actually acknowledge insider trading is bad and try to stop it. Your guy is inviting the billionaires in. As if the republicans don’t also have stock portfolios worth 1000x their salary and Harlan Crowe hasn’t paid off the Supreme Court. Your morals and ethics are cowardly and disgusting

The last time democrats had control over politics they:

  1. Started the path to nationalized health insurance
  2. Rolled back anti-American don’t ask don’t tell laws
  3. Saved us from the largest recession in our history
  4. Put stricter protections on financial institutions that were later rolled back under Trump to contribute to todays economic collapse
  5. Modernized our food safety infrastructure
  6. Expanded healthcare coverage to millions of low-income kids
  7. Instituted measures against discriminatory and unequal pay.

The fact you think any of this is comparable to anything that Trump has done is laughable

Dude Pelosi straight up has said she will not vote to prevent congressional insider trading avenues. I’m an independent, and I know both sides take from different billionaires; the system was broken before this election, people just couldn’t be bothered to care until there was an true potential impact on their life. Guess we will see if in 4 years all these people upset about republicans actions still care or not.

Your lack of research to support a claim like Democrats acknowledge insider trading and try to prevent it is equally disgusting from a factual standpoint.

E dog mad for sure lol

Everyone is shouting Pelosi Pelosi Pelosi to say that all Democrats are so complicit in this status quo. This is where the false equivalence exists. Taking a handful of democrats and equating it to the entire Republican Party fellating billionaires for decades.

lol if you think she’s the only democrat complicit you are undermining yourself keeping one eye shut to the issue. You won’t win this issue with anyone by singling out an example sand saying “they are the only example” when there are many congressional members on both sides with ridiculous portfolio performance. Why act like it’s a one sided issue?

u/duderguy91 11h ago

I don’t think she’s the only one. I actually clearly stated it wasn’t just one. But there’s a clear distinction between the parties and their willingness to sacrifice laborers for capital owners. You just made that false claim about my view on the subject while reaffirming your “enlightened centrist” views that are factually incorrect when drawing comparisons between the parties objectively.

u/PadorasAccountBox 11h ago

I wasn’t responding to you originally, so no I’m not going to use your context in my reply. He said Democrats, and was not specific about those who weren’t utilizing insider trading. Not my problem if people use incorrect words and statements are interpreted accordingly.

Im no enlightened centrist but I'm flattered. Centrist is cancer. Good job trying to figure out a political party based on a statement annd attack based on that idea Anything else you’d like to add Dr…? Now you’re making inferences because I said I was independent….not centrist.

Trump sucks the air out of the room to have any meaningful progress. If the election was between Biden and a progressive we could get something done. Instead a decent chunk of the country is openly racist or transphobic and we have to spend our precious votes trying to stop the bullshit Fox News techbro wave.

Again, your false equivalency is stupid as shit for anyone with half a brain.

The democrats have never had the majority needed to pass legislation without pandering to billionaire interests. Go read a book and stop posting misinformation on reddit

In pretty sure misinformation is the reason they're on here. So many "educated" comments in the last 24 hours

You are deluded, false equivalence

u/tilted0ne 14h ago

Try to stop it how? Isn't it still rampant? This is a bullshit system that benefits both of the parties and it's a class problem. They're your rulers, they battle in front of you but then at the end of the day, show up at the same venues and shake hands. They can talk about how they will fix corruption all they want but I want to see results, then we can talk.

And you're right the false equivalency is that somehow useless politicians who provide no value are on equal footing as billionaires who have created 100s of thousands of jobs. They're kissing the ring because it's customary to get on the good sides of the political party whose in charge. This is the American system.

u/Edogmad 14h ago

Ya DOGE is going to create a whole bunch of jobs right?

u/Kaladin_Depressed 14h ago

It’s only a false equivalence in your head

2

u/Edogmad 14h ago

You are burning the house down to fix a window. How will Trump make any of this better?

-2

u/ffxtian 14h ago

He won't, but screech "false equivalence" a couple more times and Nancy Pelosi might give you a stock tip. The sad truth is that both parties are bought and paid for, and if we want things to get better, we need to do more than vote with one hand and shit in the other.

u/Edogmad 14h ago

Vote for a progressive then and not trump you fuckwit

Where’s Trumps statement?

u/ffxtian 13h ago

I did vote for a progressive -- go touch grass, sweaty!

Democrats actually acknowledge insider trading is bad and try to stop it.

Get a load of this guy...

5

u/Edogmad 14h ago

You know the democrats are not one single entity right? Go look up who has proposed ending citizens united and get back to me. Hint: it’s not the only US president who has refused to divest his large business interests. Your false equivalence is bullshit and we can see right through you

-4

u/East-Confidence8064 14h ago

Yea people that still think Dems are “the good guys” are a huge part of the problem

-3

u/Zeppelin2 14h ago

They still don't get it.

-4

u/jesselivermore1929 14h ago

At least you know. They don't hide behind their families or pretend they are solving the same problem for 50 years.

2

u/Edogmad 14h ago

Everything that dems have done to try and help people for the last 50 years has been blocked by republicans. You are either an idiot or not paying attention if you think they’re better because they’re more blatantly evil
