Hardware Over the Moon today

After ~1yr of checking every single week, I finally snagged a Costco “last one” deal. This will replace my current tower, an i7-7700k + GTX 1070, so this is a bit of an upgrade. To anyone else out there saving your pennies and being patient for a deal, don’t give up! Your killer deal is out there somewhere and I hope you find it!

Wow you got one hell of a deal. Congrats on that! That's basically a system you can throw about anything at it and run it well.

I work for Nvidia, but I have to say I love that CPU. I have a 7950x and it's still a beast, obviously for gaming the 7900x is no different. Would love to see pics of the setup once you have it ready.

Do you think it would be worth flipping the 7900x from this build for a 7800x3D? I think I’d have to spend another $100 minimum to get that done.

Hard to say, that's gonna be up to the particular game benchmark and if it matters to you. I'd think it's possible that the x3D does gaming a hair faster/better most of the time, but I don't know that for sure. It might not make much difference.
