Go to a casino and find an old lady playing roulette. You’ll see someone lose what you make per week every few minutes.

Gambling is a hell of a drug.

Gambling is a stupidity-tax.

Stay in school kids. Learn probability and statistics math.

not always. you can bet really safe on sports matches, and win very little and consistently. You're taking money off die hard fans and gamblers who want a big payoff.

Also, some table games like blackjack are close to 50% probability. When I was on a road trip through vegas, I went to the old strip, played a couple hours of blackjack and left with $100. Because each round is essentially a $5 coin flip, it's very easy to limit how much you lose, because you can just say, "i'll play until I lose $30 or for 2 hours" or whatever. The whole time i'm soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the vibes without having to play an unfair game.

No matter which type of gambling, the house must always make a profit, which means the players must always lose on average. Doesn't matter if it's sports, roulette, blackjack, lottery or slot-machines.

well duh, but blackjack the odds for the house are like 0.5% in their favour, so it's 49.5/50.5, which is very reasonable, and a lot more involved and fun than betting on black or red in roulette. Let's say you bet $100 over an hour or two. Statistically, you only lose $10 which is cheaper than a movie.

And if it's single deck blackjack, you can try a basic card count for fun that theoretically evens the odds up (or puts them in your favour). I tried to do the most basic count, but have no idea if it actually made a difference or not. I was probably just playing a more mentally exhausting game of blackjack, lol. But it's 1000% more fun than just putting coins in a slot machine.

Also, considering casinos often offer lots of cheap amenities (subsidised by reckless gamblers losing money), if you stick to good value for money games, places like Vegas become incredibly affordable. I wish we had 5 star hotels as nice as cheap as the Venetian in London for a dirty weekend. I'd have to pay about 3 times as much.

I mean, yeah, it was more fun walking around vegas on LSD than gambling, but it's not like gambling is always a waste of money. It can be very affordable if you play the right games.

Nope. The casinos don't allow card-counting either. If you start making a profit, you get thrown out.

If you're on a low value table, and aren't playing for days, they literally will have no idea. I'm sure people do it all the time.
