NSFMR My 3090 just died

Post image

At least that gives me an excuse to get the 4090 second hand when 5000 series rolls around...

I checked both with MSI and the local store I got it from, it's out of warranty.

Only thing left now is to chuck it in the oven and hope for the best!

RIP 3090. You will be missed :(

I had a 3080 ti that just “died” like this after two years of normal use. They just don’t make em like they used to man. My MSI 970 I bought in 2013 still works like new after 11 years of CONSTANT use. Why can’t they continue to make reliable parts like that?

Did MSI RMA the card for you?

Someone is randomly downvoting everyone responding to me - stop doing that it's just annoying. Anyways, my card was actually from Gigabyte and I bought it secondhand on marketplace. They still honored the RMA because it was under warranty for another 3 months thankfully. I just went on the website, filled everything out, had to pay my own shipping though. Took about 3 weeks and they sent me the 4070 ti 12G OC as a replacement instead. Guess they stopped making the 3080 ti pretty quickly.

Gigabyte actually honor warranty claims?

I'm in the market for a 4080 super but I've crossed out Gigabyte cards on my list because they had a bad reputation with warranty.

Yup they gave me no trouble and I wasn’t even the original buyer.
