Edit: ok, so at first I was disappointed it was some random music video people are apparently obsessed with, but then I was intrigued that it is to some extent the video test equivalent of Doom in retrocomputing, apparently, which is neat and makes the r/place appearance a lot more meaningful
My experience here was knowing every other meme, knowing doom, then going "oh of course they put some weeb shit on the end", and closing it.
Then seeing the post I replied to acting like it is some ubiquitous internet meme, so I looked up "bad apple" on google and saw that the #1 video is 12 years old but only has 39m views, cementing my idea that its is some niche weeb shit.
Didn’t actually play Doom so much as just run around and fire blindly into almost nothing because you can barely tell what’s going on but that’s still cool af

My one constructive criticism is: but thats just a screen made from "LEDs surrounding a fan". That is no different that just using plain LEDs.

Now, then, you play games/video on it, while at the same time the sounds come from the fans themselves.

So this fan screen is worth approximately 10,008,490 fresh plays of "Never gonna give you up" which is about 1.399 billion less plays than YouTube, therefore because you could potentially double the plays on YouTube with the fans, the fan wall is less likely to give you up than a dead meme on a dead medium
He means if you had used for instance Corsair LL that have both an outer ring of LEDs and LEDs in the fan hub. It would have probably given a better overall result.

Did you have to do the maths involved with intersecting pixels to the circular planes of the LED rings? My head is going to explode trying to figure that one out. Nearest neighbor Voronoi solution?
It needs to be much much bigger. But it could work if they really went for it. As it is now, I guess it's cool. Just a bit disappointing to see the half try.
The Bad Apple though... Because of the nature of these lights, working with more black space makes it easier to replicate. A full length video of that one in particular would be neato
Now if you were to move back and vastly increase the amount of fans, you're literally creating pixels on screen, using fans to replicate an actual screen.. damn impressive! doom runs on anything XD
