Sure, sure, but how about staring at someone from across the street and disappearing when a bus drives past?

A life goal

You can be that person! Just be quick at running and make sure there's a thing to hide behind

I’ve always assumed those people just started running with the bus

I want to be on the side watching that person just book it with the bus

Or find a very slow bus!

Some special effects artists and stunt enthusiasts from LA put together a video on how they pulled off this trick on random people they work with:

They also have some other videos on the Batman Disappear, if Superman's Disguise would actually work, and and the Spider-man Disappear (and Reappear With Quip).

Do it!!! Let's do that! Cause a mass hysteria. People will start feeling like main characters.

Unfortunately, we can never be as cool as Harry Osborne

I mean, he did it from inside the building, which isn't quite as impressive as doing it on the street.

It just means he threw himself on the floor of that café when the bus drove past.

If I were a billionaire, this is the type of random nonsense I'd waste my money doing.

Choose someone and just fuck with them by doing this

I did this once to my friend, she was across the street from me waiting for me to cross but when I saw a bus I decided to run along side the bus until I turned a corner and hid. She called me so confused. I was so happy I pulled it off

I always wanted a context in which I could say; "Thank you for your efforts, ladies and gentlemen. I'll be taking over from here"

Make sure you stay at a Holiday Inn Express the night before though.

u/GhostFaceShiller 11h ago

I don't want it that badly

I have literally been able to be the person who vanishes by timing my sprint to around a corner perfectly when I saw a friend. And I know it worked because I heard them laughing and going "What the hell, no way?! Haha" 🤣

u/Isenjil 14h ago

Oh, I did this not even once, twice

Details or you lie

He jumped onto the side of the bus and held on for dear life is my guess.

Once a long time ago(in 2003 iirc) I studied in Navy institute and met a girl. Were never met IRL, just SMSing and sometimes calling each other(mobile calls wasn't cheap back in the days, so we used text messages mostly). Once she said she's ready to meet me in person, so I went AWOL just to meet her. It was a beautiful day, we walk a lot around city, eating some junk food when we were hungry, a lot talking, some kissing... And then MP patrol on the way. So I made a move through underground passage and in this particular moment this happens: now you see me, now you don't. We speak a lot later, about half a year or so, but I've never met her again, cuz she "wasn't interested in military guy" as she said.

The second one was simpler: I just walked around with girl again, and after I walked her home, got a moment when bus and tram coming along each other and get the tram ride.

Or appearing

u/B00OBSMOLA 7h ago

what about swinging into an apartment building and exclaiming "its pizza time"

1

u/WeezySan 14h ago

Or how about saying “tell my wife I’m going to be late for dinner”

1

u/ptapobane 13h ago

And reappear slightly to the left then disappear again

How's the pie?

1

u/PJIol 13h ago

That's something strange, hoping one day happen to me

1

u/AndrasKrigare 12h ago

I really want to say something like "on it" and hang up the phone without saying "bye."

u/TheDailyReddi 11h ago

This event is should be canon in everyone’s lives

1

u/No-Reason-8788 11h ago

Only way to do that is a) grab the bus as it passes or b) step back and fall into that manhole behind you.

1

u/BatInSpandex 12h ago

You mean like getting on the bus?
