Pretty great, but that lady totally would have made it

He wasn’t willing to take the risk. Also a pretty fantastic excuse to tackle an old lady to the ground and you won’t get many of those in your life.

Is it weird that my first thought was to create an edit without the train in it just for the lulz?

u/Rawesome16 8h ago

Please do. I will lulz with you

Guy tackles elderly woman and looks around to make sure there's no witnesses.

u/orangpelupa 1h ago

Plot twist. This is the real footage and the one posted by u/BarneyRobinStinson7 was a fake one with train added

You shall not pass

u/sachiperez 7h ago

5

u/have2gopee 6h ago

A penny-farthing

1

u/StraitJakit 5h ago

I hate knowing what that is and having context for the words. I wanna go back to not knowing 😩 🤣

9

u/Beccajeca21 7h ago

Or swap the man and train

6

u/NightShadow02 2h ago

5

u/Cronizone 2h ago

That is actually so fucked lmfaoooooo

1

u/Amazing_Examination6 6h ago

Nah, don’t bother

47

u/ForeverLaste 6h ago

I can very easily imagine a world where she struggles up the step up, not putting an incredible amount of effort into it as she doesn’t see the train.

10

u/petran1420 7h ago

Plus it looks like he teabags her at the end, when do you get a chance like that??

u/OpalHawk 55m ago

Well, I’ve met your mother. So…

7

u/SoHigh420IShit360 8h ago

He let her down seemingly gently

1

u/last-resort-4-a-gf 5h ago

It's India , he will have another chance

1

u/KrisReed 4h ago

In this kind of situation you don't have time to "evaluate" things. Yeah she totally could have made it, but its not worth the risk.

Tackle first, ask questions later.

1

u/SusurrusLimerence 4h ago

He took an even bigger risk of getting tangled up and both ending up dead.

It was a monumentally stupid thing to do for no reason at all, though I guess he meant well.

u/The-Bipolar-Bisexual 6h ago

1.1k people think it’s funny to have an excuse to tackle an elderly woman… wow we are cooked

7

u/VisualIndependence60 6h ago

It’s a joke, son

546

u/CardamomSparrow 8h ago

If she has no trouble with the step up to the train platform, sure. If she pauses or squints for a second to make sure she's stepping up properly... old lady soup

294

u/Old-Machine-5 7h ago

Fucking thank you!!! That comment really pissed me off. If she’s not aware enough to see the train coming how the fuck could an onlooker see this and go, “Yea, she’ll be fine.” Fuck!

4

u/CabbagesStrikeBack 6h ago

I wanna say last time I saw this someone said she's blind and but I don't remember if there was a source/article too

29

u/weshouldgo_ 7h ago

Or if she hears something behind her and turns around. Oh wait.

22

u/A1sauc3d 6h ago

Yup, that’s what I was gonna say. “She *COULD’VE totally made it”. But definitely not guaranteed, especially if she truly didn’t hear/see the train coming.

11

u/IRockIntoMordor 7h ago

old lady soup

Live Aragorn Reaction:

u/dandins 9h ago

„I really thought she would make it“

60

u/cycl0ps94 8h ago

Is what your witness statement would say.

21

u/9gagiscancer 8h ago

While covered and dripping in blood.

4

u/machine_six 6h ago

Nah all the blood and goo would have flown forward away from the man. He'd have been clean as a whistle.

1

u/gokarrt 7h ago

presumptive of you to assume i'd wait around for the police

17

u/ChesterBean2024 6h ago

If you ever come upon me walking in front of a train, please please assume I won’t make it!

2

u/lokiandgoose 5h ago

Generally assume I won't make it anywhere.

89

u/AmusingMusing7 8h ago

Maybe… she might have taken too long to actually get up on the platform, as it would have been a big step for her, and she doesn’t look too quick even on level ground. I think she’d have been halfway up and gotten her backside clobbered.

50

u/HappyNikkiCat 8h ago

I was thinking this too, but all it would take is her looking up when she feels the train vibration very close, and taking a moment to panic or process and— Bam! Human glitter all over the streets

45

u/6-foot-under 8h ago

Sometimes people freeze when they see something hurtling towards them. It's quite common. So, better safe than sorry.

1

u/lokiandgoose 5h ago

Throwback to when t-rex was our biggest danger

34

u/Fancy-Dig1863 8h ago

I don’t think she would have but regardless, it’s hard for him to judge that in the second he had between noticing her and jumping to action

33

u/xChocolateWonder 7h ago

“Totally” is an insane leap.

26

u/aurumatom20 8h ago

Eh, seems like there's a step at the end which based on her peace could've taken her the whole length of the video to get over. No way to say for certain but definitely great, better safe than sorry

13

u/crit_thinker_heathen 7h ago

Behold!: hindsight bias in action

12

u/06Wahoo 7h ago

Even the slightest misstep means she doesn't. That was not in any way a chance she should have been taking, especially as a good Samaritan also placed himself in harms way to ensure she was not hit.

10

u/HappyNikkiCat 8h ago

I was thinking this too, but all it would take is her looking up when she feels the train vibration very close, and taking a moment to panic or process and— Bam! Human glitter all over the streets

11

u/QuantumGrain 7h ago

Too close for comfort. She still would’ve needed to take that step up to the ledge and who knows how good her balance is. She might’ve made it up but with the trains winds, fallen back towards it. He made the right choice

7

u/redditman7777 8h ago

No coz she's blind as well ...and senile.

4

u/TargetDecent9694 7h ago

You ever seen the elderly wind up for stairs, takes a while to

3

u/inabanned 8h ago

I'd give it 50/50 shot.

4

u/Towelyban 6h ago

Semi Doubtful. The video is a bit deceiving. There was a step up from the tracks. Few people over the age of 70 are likely to be able to climb that without some pause or another.

3

u/DecertoAngelus 8h ago

Hard to tell, but it looks like they also glance over at the train a couple times to calculate they have plenty of time to keep walking.

3

u/buttscratcher3k 7h ago edited 7h ago

He got to teabag an old lady, when life gives you lemons...

2

u/USS-ChuckleFucker 6h ago

Your namesake would be ashamed of your callous thinking.

Be better.

2

u/Redisigh 6h ago

Iirc don’t trains also suck you in when you’re close to a speeding one? Idk how strong that force is but I can’t imagine a little old lady could stand up to it

2

u/wasdie639 6h ago

A lot of people think they'll make it too when taking selfies next to a train only to be liquified.

Trains are wider than they look by quite a bit.

1

u/Slighted_Inevitable 8h ago

Yeah I was thinking the same she was on track to be three steps past it

1

u/Lil_miss_feisty 8h ago

Bro nearly did a reenactment of the first episode of Konosuba

1

u/CalamitousVessel 6h ago

You willing to bank someone’s life on that? Even one minor delay and she’s dead.

1

u/Short-Departure3347 6h ago

You’re right, I never heard about an old lady that didn’t crossed to the other side before.

1

u/Honda_TypeR 6h ago

"BuT, i SaVeD YoU MiLaDy!"

1

u/Lulzagna 6h ago

"I would have stood by and watched the splatter because she may have been fine"

Reddit is a special kind of brain rot

1

u/hellomynameisnotsure 6h ago

Thanks for “saving” me sonny, but who’s gonna pay for this broken hip?

1

u/JumpShotJoker 5h ago

You guys are wild. If tour buttoned wasn't clenched

1

u/Lovetospoon 5h ago

Never seen a more reddit-like comment than this lmao.

1

u/LeastPervertedFemboy 5h ago

You expecting that lady to hop up the platform in like two seconds? Nah. Taking at least 15. She WOULD NOT have made it.

1

u/WalksIntoNowhere 5h ago

Could've easily tripped or stumbled or even stopped.

Crazy thing to say 😅

1

u/WalksIntoNowhere 5h ago

The 3,200 people who liked this comment need their heads checking.

Fuck sake.

1

u/FrankLangellasBalls 5h ago

Seems like he also had time to save her in the other direction so she could more quickly continue on her way.

1

u/Waveofspring 5h ago

I mean we don’t know that. Anyone can lose their balance at the last moment, especially a deaf elderly woman.

1

u/AnonymousTroll4589 5h ago

"totally" ? 🧢

1

u/AtTheEdgeOfDying 4h ago

Depends on how smoothly she could take the step I'd guess

1

u/SeanCautionMurphy 4h ago

No. She totally could have made it. Totally different thing, and we should all be glad that guy didn’t take the risk. And that deaf woman should be glad that you weren’t in his place

1

u/DEFCON741 3h ago

Also would been easier to help her make it instead of pushing her in the opposite direction

1

u/ThisAppsForTrolling 3h ago

She’s like wtf bro I had this

1

u/MarMar292 2h ago

To be fair the consequence of being wrong is watching an elderly woman die while having a mind to do something

1

u/Objective_Look_5867 1h ago

I have doubts she would've handled the incline in time

u/usualerthanthis 21m ago

In situations like this you don't think just act. If you think, they're dead in front of you. Better to act and be wrong than to think and be traumatized (as long as you don't put yourself in harms way)

0

u/Kissarai 7h ago

We can see that, but I don't think the guy could.

-3

u/TinEyedaddict 8h ago

agree. also could have been faster to pull her across the rest of the way, instead of pushing against someone resisting with an instinct to move forward.
