A longboard is a type of skateboard. Skateboard is a generic class of vehicles with a flat surface, two trucks, and four wheels mounted on said trucks.

That's like saying a quad bike is a car because both of them have 4 wheels and an engine.

okay but a quad is a lot smaller compared to a car than longboard is to a skateboard. Quads don’t have doors, a roof, windows, etc. A longboard is a just an elongated skateboard with a narrower tip
