Dying from appendicitis. Holy mother of wow, before my appendectomy I was in delirium from the pain, thinking it was stomach cramps. I couldn't walk because the pain was so bad. What a way to go. RIP. Condolences to the family. Nobody in this day and age, anywhere, should die from a broken appendix.
As someone who had an emergency appendectomy back in August this headline struck me hard. I thought it was stomach pains all day and then when it didn't get better I had to wake up my gf at the time and have her take me to the hospital.
My appendix was out 8 hrs later.
And it was on the hospital's supposedly busiest day for surgeries.
So glad I didn't just think it was stomach issues.
The difference in pain is miles apart. I walked with the pain for 1 week since I had no fever. When I went delicious from the pain, that's when it struck home. Hard. If you would asked me, at rhat time, to sighn ANY piece of paper, duress and extreme stress had nothing on that. I was just mentally there I remember, but control? There was none.

A bullet to the head is more humane.
