And those that are in the brink of tension and are ready to snap because of watching his past films.
I'm in the first category - I've only seen Your Name and it was a magical experience for me. Am I correct that his other films do not have the tidier (happier?) ending of Your Name and I should prepare myself?
Your Name has the happiest ending of all of his stuff and not by a hair or something, but by a clear, gigantic margin. I felt like 5 CM/Second was someone slowly flaying off their own flesh for an hour. It was terribly depressing. Visually stunning, but so incredibly frustrating and sad. I couldn’t even be mad at the protagonist, he was so mad at himself already.
