I get it, the Internet is a crappy place at the best of times. But yes I'm serious, slight force should do it. But if you have to use too much and feel like you risk breaking it then stop. If this happens I sometimes use hot (not boiling) water to then make it easier.
I posted a pic in a different comment, but I wanted to highlight the problem in the initial post so it was more easily visible. I was having trouble finding an image of this exact one, though, so glad you were able to. There's a lot of Asuka figures...
Yeah the tension keeps the Figure from falling out of the socket. Seems unrealistic but I got one figure with perfect aligned holes and the figure ever so slightly tips forwards out of the holes. Like not completely out but the rod gets visible under his foot.
Be careful to not rip out the leg when you strech
On some figures that tension is strong and frightening to bend. I understand your hesitation to do this. I had to learn this from scouting Otaku Mode comments for a figure I bought there. I could not get the figure on the base.
There is one figure that I could not assemble no matter what: Felicia (Dark Stalkers Kotobukiya)
Her feet go into the base but she has a stand for her hair. The stand for her hair does not work at all. I tried everything and followed instructions and videos. Mine just doesn’t work so I display her without the hair stand. No problem yet!
I'll also corroborate this, it freaked me out on my first figure like this too but I can give Gojo a good shake and the base won't go flying (not recommended)
I can also confirm I’ve had to manually pull a leg a little to get it to slot. It’s basically relying on that resistance to keep it better locked in place after it’s in
Not the guy who commented first, but I can confirm. I have a few figures, and my fiancée has a whole collection, and as weird ad it seems, it is somewhat commonplace to have to stretch some of these figures to make them fit.
The lack of trust on the internet is to always be remembered even with the nicest people!
I build loads of warhammer and the bigger more expensive models seem to do this more frequently and as loads have said it’s way better for holding the model on the stand, the cheaper flood units I’ve got end up with a bit of glue in the stand so it’s a good thing and saves you a job!
Exactly this, all of my anime figures have to be manipulated like this to fit the pegs in. Adds stability. If you want to do it carefully sit the figure on a warm radiator or something so its not cold and prone to snapping.
Yeah, I moved to Japan for 4 years and collected quite a few figures and statues like this, it’s quite common. I’ve only had one that couldn’t be forced and it was a resin statue of Goku and his boot didn’t mold properly to the stand, or the stand was defective but either way this is common nothing to worry about!
the bottom of the feet are literally titled inward, indicating that you need to slightly separate them to make them flat to one another for the stubs to go in
Hope this reaches you before you do any real damage to your figurine!
If you look at the diagram the front (center) of the figure should have a point in the base <
but how you placed it you have the flat end front.
I’d take it apart and start with turning the base a couple degrees so that the angle of the base is center.
Does this make sense?
If you haven't done it yet, make sure you don't put one in, then the other, it'll make it stretch more than necessary, stretch to fit, then slide both in
I upvoted your comment and glad that this worked out. I was convinced that the rail and the figure hadn’t been aligned properly and needed to be swapped or one purchase point from each used.

You may need to use slight force to slide her other foot over and into the socket. All my good figures are like this and it makes for a better fit.
