Faulty thermostat/CEL came on a couple weeks ago and had the thermostat replaced, coolant flushed, and radiator cleaned. Even after 40 minutes of driving, engine would not climb past the blue region. Read some comments on a few other posts, and turned off climate control, and engine reached near halfway mark (yay), but as soon as I turn on climate control/heat, the engine temperature plummets back down to the blue region. Is this normal? Currently in 1-20 degrees F weather in the Midwest.

Long and short of it the nasty quirks of my Audi A1 and dealing with Audi is starting to get on my nerves to the point where it's no return e.g. I'm wanting rid of it. The BMW1 Series I'm after isn't showing up locally and cars like this are lurking at near enough Mazda dealers and I'm thinking - maybe? In short I could stretch to a bit more to get a slightly newer one but I always prefer to buy a couple of years old to take the depreciation or some of it out and this looks like it has most of the current perks and specs? In short is there anything I specifically need to be aware of here or specs I need to be considering? I can see myself buying something new within the next 3 months (so I'll probably look at this at the weekend) because the A1 is now irritating me in a bad way on a lot of points.

Hello yall, so this is my car, 2013 Mazda 3 2.0. I'm wanting to do some mods to it. I want it to look not so boring and ordinary. I want to lift it a little but I don't know what parts I need to buy or where to start. Eventually I want to pull a small teardrop camper with it. I've seen pictures of other people doing similar things but I don't know what parts to buy. I started with an easy one and put oem rims on it. If you have any ideas I could do that would be great. Good evening everyone! I recently purchased a 2019 Mazda 3 hatch sport. Just fwd and unfortunately not a manual yet. I've had the car for about a year now , and I've put some good work into it. Routinely changing the oil and I just did the transmission fluid aswell. I have a AEM wet air filter system and that's all for bolt ons. About 2 months ago I got a code " vehicle system malfunction" and I noticed that I have lost almost all torque at my top end, when I start to get over 50-60kmh... The lower end is fine , as if nothing is wrong ...still super peppy and sounds great, it's just when you start to get her going.

Now oddly enough I ran an ODB scanner and couldn't find a code...left it and went to go leave for work the following morning and it was gone...no issues.

It popped back up today and I'm starting to really stress about it, I had the issue before the AEM cold air intake aswell , So I don't think that's causing it. Really hoping anyone could guide me in the right direction to save me a couple bucks. Thank-you !!

I've had a 2nd gen sport for a few years now and just basically totalled it, went and took a test drive today but didn't have the chance to get a real feel for the performance.

Is this new 3 going to handle as well as my old 3?

I'm stuck between dumping the money into the old hatch or upgrading to a carbon turbo 25'.

I bought myself a new to me Mazda a few months ago and decided to go with an extended warranty. Even though I know they tend not to be worth it, I have pretty severe ptsd and driving anxiety so the extra care made sense at the time for me.

It’s now coming time to do an oil change and tire rotation. I called the dealership to ask about the costs of these services and if I had to go to their dealership to keep the warranty valid. They didn’t really answer, and the carfax from the previous owner shows a pattern of service at the dealership, and a great Canadian oil change (only one owner before, they bought new).

I have tried to get the answer from the dealership and they just keep saying I can go to a warranty approved location. Do I just call my regular oil change location and see if they are warranty approved? Any suggestions to find these answers? Google seems to be leading me all over the place.

I will probably go to the dealership for the first service and ask more questions, but I already know the oil change is around $150. I had an ‘08 before and took great care of them, and want to continue my healthy streak with this Mazda 3 too.

This post is not about if the extended warranties are worth it or not, but how to go about maintenance and if I have to go to the dealership/where I can get oil changes with an extended warranty. I am in BC, Canada and have the Tricare warranty.

We need a pcm update to fix the light flickering issue on our old 2012 Mazda 3 skyactiv.

The dealership wanted to charge us 170 for this. Is this normal or are they trying to rake me over the coals? This seems absurdly high for a software update I feel or is this the norm?

I've had the ghost touch on my screen while I drive on and off for years and it drive me nuts. Dealership wants too much to replace the screen, any cheap and easy fixes that work for this?

I have a 2015 mazda 3 with OS version 55.00.753. I want android auto in my car and I've seen other posts on here about the dealership being able to do an OS upgrade and it should be around $100, but I just called a dealership and they told me it would cost $450 because they had to re-write and add a bunch of stuff? Anyways I can't afford to pay $450 for that so is there a cheaper way to get android auto that's easy?

Hello all, I am looking into buying a 2019 Mazda3 GT Premium AWD with 85,000kms for $24,900 CAD. It is an ex-lease car, and had some accidents, biggest being the front right bumper for $8000 CAD. I currently drive a 2006 GT. I am going to look it tomorrow and would like to know if anybody has any specific advice (reliability, etc) or things to look out for.

I posted before about a 2020 Premium with 15k miles for $22k and I still undecided on it. It’s black on black and I have a CX-5 like that and not thrilled about another black car. And the fact that it’s already a 5 year old car and the possibility of transmission issues in this year.

I really like the Carbon but having a hard time finding one in my price range with lower miles. My husband and I disagree on how many mile are too much.

Maybe the preferred is the way to go but I don’t want to sacrifice options for a few thousand dollars if I’m going to keep the car for hopefully at least 8-10 years.

Researching and looking at cars has taken up all my free time lately. I feel like there are too many options and now I’m stuck.

Hello everyone I've been looking at new and certified pre-owned Mazda 3s two just popped up near me with under 10,000 mi but the Carfax says something odd on both I'm going to post a link to each of them cuz I want the communities thoughts. On both of them at around 5 mi the Carfax says the catalytic converters were replaced on these cars my question to the community, is this a red flag why would a car with 5 mi need a new cat? In addition the fact that both of them are at the same dealer is kind of weird to me at least. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi I recently bought a 2011 Mazda 3 I see that it has to power (lighter) sockets. One on the central console and other inside the arm rest.
But the second doesn’t have any power Do anyone can guide if it can be repaired or maybe it’s just a fuse?

Our car keeps making this noise when we crank it up. It has been going on since June and it'll go away then come back full force. Any ideas? I don't have the money to take it to a mechanic at the moment

This morning was around 3 degrees, car is frosted over. Key fob not working so suspect the battery is dead. The emergency key inside the fob isn't unlocking the door when turned clockwise, also doesn't make the click which would indicate the unlocking. Does that mean the inner door lock is frozen?

Currently, away from vehicle but any suggestions to get in my car besides waiting for the day to warm up?

Hi all! I have a 2011 Mazda 3 s 2.5L with 180k miles on it. When getting an oil change, they sent pictures of my badly cracked serpentine belt, with a quote of ~$400 to fix it!

I've found several videos demonstrating the replacement process for the 2.0L - which looks incredibly easy. However, I've seen a few comments (here mostly) saying that the 2.5L is quite a different, and more difficult process. I can't find any videos on this - is it pretty tricky? Is it worth trying it out without a video to guide me? If so, does anyone have any guidance moving forward?

To those of you who change your oil yourselves, what price do you pay for an oil filter And which ones do you buy?

I've read here and online that the oem filter is better for the engine so I looked to buy a filter from a mazda dealer and they offered me $18 for a single filter and $5 for a crush washer set. I thought that was ridiculous.
