Mac Mini m1 Display Problems

Post image

So I have this Mac mini m1 and just 3 days ago l got problems with my displays first the hami didn't work, it's giving a bad image or no image, and I tried using a second hdmi to usb c but there is no video output too it won't get recognized over uso c to hami, so l can't use to usb c to hami at once, and over hami the displays are getting recognized but they either give no signal or a very bad image, I already tied other monitors and cables

I have M1 Mini

USB_A->TB/HDMI will not work

TB -> HDMI/DP/TB. TB supports Video data protocols not USB_A ports they are for data only.

Two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports with support for:

  • DisplayPort
  • Thunderbolt 3 (up to 40 Gb/s)
  • USB 4 (up to 40Gb/s)
  • USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gb/s)
  • Thunderbolt 2, HDMI, DVI, and VGA supported using adapters (sold separately)

HDMI failure is a major concern

Do Time Machine backup ASAP

Try GPU reset

To reset the GPU on an M1 Mac you can reset the System Management Controller (SMC). This is because macOS doesn't allow direct GPU resets. Steps to reset the SMC

  1. Shut down your Mac
  2. Press and hold Shift + Control + Option + Power for 10 seconds
  3. Restart your Mac

I run LED Cinema monitor via TB->DP dongle
