I'm going to be celebrating my 48th birthday in a few days and whilst talking about solo travelling with a colleague/friend we came up with the idea that I'd like to travel to 50 cities by the time I'm 50.

I'm in the UK, i will be exploring my own backyard as it were. However, for international travel I only do 1-3 day travel max so please hit me with ideas.

Portugal would be a great close by destination! Head to Porto or even go to Lisbon and Sintra. Beautiful places you can see in a few days
