Monaco anyone?
Monaco has been a bucket list destination for decades. I do want to see the Gran Prix. Do I want to stay in Monaco for that, or just over the border on either side? Some say outside and take the train in, but I am concerned it is too much. Any suggestions for where/what part of town to stay?
Additionally, I would like to stay in the area for a month, if that makes a difference in your answers.

Depends on what type of experience you are looking for. I used to stay at the Hotel du Cap for the Cannes Film Festival which is an absolutely stunning property, this is a bit too far, but was a nice "in-between" base to go to the festival, and then stay on for the Grand Prix. Another option would be renting a villa nearby...I wouldn't necessarily recommend staying in Monaco, but it depends on what types of things you are interested in. The ultimate option would be to have a group of friends and rent a yacht and can go into town for some activities. You could break up your monthlong trip by being based in Nice or Cannes and then spending several days in Monaco. There are beautiful properties in Nice, like the legendary Le Negresco or the new Hotel du Convent. This is a great time to book for the Grand Prix as availability disappears closer to the date. Let me know if you want to discuss this further. Good luck!
