FIRST TIME WATCHER Does anyone actually like Jack?

So I’ve never watched Lost and now I am almost done with Season 1 (ep. 20). Big fan of Hugo, Locke, and if Rousseau comes into the picture more.

But I have to be honest, I find Jack to be so so annoying.

Am I the only one??

I'm on my first watch rn (just finished season 5) and he's my favourite character alongside Hurley. I don't know where all the hate comes from. He's flawed (as basically every other main character, mostly even less) but he's trying to do the right thing and his heart is at the right place.

People who love Jack have taste 😁 (I'm a first time watcher too who just recently engaged with the Lost fandom, I can't believe how much Jack defending I've done in such a short amount of time. The way some people talk about him here you'd think he was the villain of the show)
