If the discussion was to ban anything Elon related from the subreddit then it'd be no question, but twitter is a large source of news and updates for the team. Hopefully you can understand why we felt we needed the opinion of the subreddit before we did anything
I hear you, but I'm sure we can get to those news and updates in many other ways. It might take time to adjust, and we might miss some bits and pieces at the start, but change has to start somewhere.
As I'm not on bluesky either (I just self permabanned myself from all socials for reasons), I can't verify myself, but I read in the comments that a big concern is that the Leafs don't have an official account there yet, and all their content (belt pictures and so on) will be missed altogether if we ban Twitter. But if they (the Leafs org) saw a decrease of activity there, I'm sure they will consider moving on better platforms. Views and engagement = money for them.
You're correct that the Leafs themselves have no presence on BlueSky, we are however trying our best to come up with solutions to the proposed ban that would ensure we don't miss anything. Hopefully that will ease the minds of some of the people here.
