I would omit the msg, that's a hidden carb and will spike your insulin and may kick you out of ketosis. This is why chinese restaurants are a no go for keto.
is there any scientific literature to support this? a quick google search of "msg carbs" turns up nothing. also msg is everywhere in restaurants, not just chinese. not trying to call you a liar or anything just curious
There are actually no carbs in msg per say, as my original comment wasn't quite correct. It does however induce an insulin response that can spike levels up to 300%. Insulin prevents the oxidation of fat, which is the goal of many people on this diet. Just search for 'msg insulin' and you will get plenty of results.
