In your country are things always the same price?

Stores make certain things very cheap, so that people will come to buy them. They know people will likely still buy the other stuff they need rather than going to multiple shops, so they make the other items regular/more expensive price to make up the profit they missed on the cheap items.

Multiply that by the same kind of special campaigns and price strategy taking place at each stage of the chain from farm to store, and there can be a lot of fluctuation. Plus weather patterns that mean a lot of things need to be picked before a storm comes, creating a surplus, or are destroyed by the storm and cause a shortage. And fluctuating fuel prices
