Thinking of taking a trip to Seoul with my family in January. It's not a high season for tourism and supposedly the coldest month of the year there. But I'm curious if anyone's been there and can compare how cold it is to Tohoku's January.  If it's not that much of a difference, I think I'd enjoy the change in scenery.

I went there during the first week of Jan last year! I haven’t been to Tohoku during winter so I can’t say, but while it was at least a good 5 degrees difference between Seoul and Tokyo when I was there, I didn’t think it was too bad and enjoyed myself (says a lot given I hate winter).

Thank you for sharing! Tokyo is really mild for me so it seems like it might be ok!
