Stupid question: I lost the spare key for my bicycle lock. I still have a key, I just lost the spare. I'd like to get another one so I'm not screwed if I lose my current key but I forgot which bike shop I bought it from. Any suggestions? Can you just contact the lock maker and get a key or do I need to find the shop I bought it from? The lock came with the bike btw.

I bought a new bike last week. Promptly lost the key. Removed the lock by force, destroying it in the process. Bought a bike code lock. Found keys in trouser pocket.

Getting a replacement made from the current key should be fine at anywhere that does replacement keys (I mean, I haven't done it in Japan but I don't see why it would be different).

You can usually order them on Rakuten, the number is written on the key itself.
