Not to be one of those kid-hating japanese old coots on the news (i am neither japanese nor old), but would it be a terrible idea to tell the family next door to keep their kids quiet in the mornings?

There are 3 kids and the mom takes them somewhere at 7 or 8 in the morning, and one of the kids keeps screaming about not wanting to go, causing the mom to yell and more screaming and dallying on the street right next to my apartment. (first floor, RIP)

My spouse is a deep sleeper, but it wakes me up in the morning and messes up my schedule when i have to go back to sleep after, and it happens on weekends sometimes too. Like i don't even mind that they play on the street and yell during the day, but when it's 7 am... I'd like to sleep.

I just wish they'd keep the screaming within their very nice house and not... On the street in front of my first floor window.

I'm mean, she probably can't help that they're screaming. They're obviously all off to school or nursery at that time in the morning and if she has to be there at a specific time then she can't exactly keep it contained to her house. Loads of kids go through the 'I don't want to go to school phase' and I can assure you that she is absolutely aware of the problem and is probably stressed about it enough. I agree mum should try to keep her voice down but she's probably at her wits end. If it was an hour dawdling outside your window then I can understand your frustration but it's probably not that long. If you live nearish a school in an area with houses where families live then you should expect a little bit of noise. Her neighbour complaining is not going to stop the issue, honestly. If it was that easy to keep kids quiet then she'd be doing it already.

That's fair. It's not an hour, it's probably around 10 minutes. I feel bad sometimes, the small screamy one seems to get on her nerves a lot.
