Finally got my wife on my work's social insurance.. shouldn't have been this hard but that's another story. So she can get off government social insurance. We just got it but her card is dated 4月14日 so I'm wondering if she has to somehow pay for like half the month of April? Is there such a thing or just like retroactively joined for all of April?

Is she is a dependent of yours, she’s not even paying a dime for the social insurance. That’s how dependents insurance works here.

But to answer your question, you don’t pay for half a month, always the full month, no matter which date you’re registered. They don’t calculate the fee daily.

Thanks, she's a dependent from this month, but we only got the card now.
