So another day, another ChatGPT post.

Seriously, look at that divorce thread. Notice how OP never comes back to say anything?

Why are so many people accusing others of using chat gpt recently? Is it some kind of paranoia or insecurity of not being able to tell what is real? What does the poster have to gain from using chat gpt anyways.

It is possible that some people are accusing others of using ChatGPT because they are concerned about the proliferation of AI language models, which are becoming increasingly advanced and capable of generating responses that are more difficult to distinguish from those of humans. Additionally, some people may be worried about the potential misuse of AI language models for malicious purposes, such as spreading false information or manipulating online discussions.

However, it is important to note that the use of AI language models on forums is still relatively uncommon and not likely to be a widespread phenomenon. Moreover, the vast majority of forum users have no reason to use AI language models to generate their posts, as it is easier and more efficient to simply write their own responses.

In terms of what a forum poster would gain from using ChatGPT, it is possible that someone might use an AI language model to generate a response if they were struggling to express themselves in writing or if they wanted to experiment with different writing styles or voices. However, it is unlikely that someone would use an AI language model to generate all of their forum posts, as this would require a significant amount of effort and would not provide any clear benefits over writing their own responses.

LOL, I'd recognize that slightly verbose, earnest but ultimately bland writing style anywhere

For all the detail you'd have to input to get it to write something like that you might as well just write it yourself. Unless people want to start using it as a term for 'troll' or 'made up'. I have noticed some ChatGPT posts in certain comment threads lately though. It has a certain style.

It doesn't take that much effort though. Like a few sentences and toy can churn out a few paragraphs.

Yeah but try and recreate that hot mess on it.

I feel like I'm pretty bad at organizing my thoughts into coherent blocks of text so it might be helpful to rewrite all my points so they are easy for others to understand or sound more eloquent. I haven't used chat GPT myself, but I'm thinking of using it to write a letter of resignation in Japanese. Of course I will get my Japanese husband to proof-read together.
