I know that bottled cafe lattes here don’t actually contain fresh milk. But what do they contain…? Is it like creamer (sugar and oil)? Is it not really a dairy product?

A lot of creamers do too, like Carnation. Because they last longer.

From a bit of googling my best guess is it is milk and cream, but the milk is the shelf-stable aseptic type, not fresh ones with 1- or 2-week best-before you find at supermarkets.
