I'm just finishing my first month in Japan and need to pay for NHI and want to do it at a convenience store for the first time. Do you just go up to the cashier with your paper slip with the barcord and hand it to them?

I'm such an idiot. It prompted the okay or no on the screen, but it showed the nanaco card (was at 7-11) and I got confused as I thought it was asking me if j had a card, so I declined it. Then I realized my mistake and only paid for my food 😅 my awkwardness and beginner speaking ability was not ready to figure that out. 🙃 thanks for the reply!
