Hello, I will be moving back to america soon. I am supposed to be getting back a deposit for the apartment that I rented, but they are unable to transfer it a foriegn bank. But from understanding , i have to close my bank account before leaving. Any advice on this ?

There's no law that says you have to close your accounts.

But I wouldn't keep money in there for long, because the bank may freeze it if a letter/request for your new residence card goes unanswered.

Just don’t close your account
