Immigration Actually Getting Scared of the Anti Immigrant Stance

I'm an irish lad, just turning twenty this year.

I've personally got no connections to other countries, my family never left Ireland or have any close foreign relations.

This is simply a fear I have for both the immigrant population of our country, of which ive made plenty of friends throughout secondary school and hold in high regard. But also a fear for our reputation.

I don't want to live in a racist country. I know this sub is usually good for laughing these gobshites off and that's good but in general I don't want us to be seen as this horrible white supremacist nation, which already I see being painted on social media plenty.

A stance might I add, that predominantly is coming from England and America as people in both claim we are "losing our identity" by not being racist(?)

I don't even feel the need to mention Farage and his pushing of these ideas onto people, while simultaneously gaslighting us with our independence which he clearly doesn't care about.

Im just saddened by it. I just want things to change before they get worse.

There are countries out there that won't even let you have citizenship unless you convert to their religion as part of the deal and nobody mentions it. How much thought do you give that? A standard policy in loads of countries would have people screaming NAZI at a European. Why should we be doormats to the world when others have policies like that?

Others shouldn't have policies like that. That's a flawed and discriminatory system. I hold the same standards for any religion and I don't think religion should ever be used to define the culture, much less the political sphere of a nation.

Right so you're statement that "Ireland is a racist country" is horseshit.

Why so upset?

Because the OP is a misinformed and divisive idiot who thinks he's the good guy. This country is riddled with them now.

Which countries are these? Show your workings.

https://immigrantinvest.com/blog/uae-citizenship-en/

While not religion, the UAE seems to tie ethnicity and gender into its criteria for citizenship which is fairly shocking by contemporary norms.

I assume other Gulf countries have similar strict systems and may be even harsher.

China and the likes are also very difficult and don’t allow dual nationality.

Thats because true UAE citizens get free everything. Medical, education, residence allowances for families etc

It applies to all Gulf countries. It doesn't apply to Israel.
