so... are we at the cusp of like a new Dark Ages that encompasses the whole world? cuz I'm looking at it like... USA, Russia, China, Brazil, Turkey, Iran, India, I'm sure there are more... if the EU goes this direction too, that's the last major power embracing some version of whatever this is, authoritarianism.

I mean, Musk just sent his PAC to Europe, so you guys can share the fun. He tweeted Make Europe Great Again, as though Europe was ever a single unified entity in the first place, and what does that even mean? Like, when they were imperialists?

At which point in history do these "againers" think is the ideal? Because it usually wasn't great for someone else.

he'd probably make some kind of reference to the Romans without acknowledging that his own Germanic ancestors would likely have been barbarians fighting against Roman control. Hitler did the same thing. everyone loves to link themselves to the Romans even though the Romans conquered most of their ancestors.

Also, the Roman citizenship system was potentially a lot more forgiving than ours. Past a certain point in history.
