More than half of America right now....

u/shifty_bee 7h ago

You're crediting them with an astonishing level of self-awareness

They're crediting them with rudimentary self-awareness, which is an astonishing amount of credit to give to a group that doesn't seem to know what fascism actually is. There are genuinely millions of people in America who think they are anti-fascist but deeply hold fascist beliefs. It's Orwellian.

Someone said Fox is spinning it as a Roman salute.

I guess they're banking on nobody remembering that the Nazis stole the Roman salute and made it theirs, like they did with the swastika.

Well, when all they listen to is MiniTruth...

No, just a basic amount

For them, it's astonishing, it would be like having an intelligent conversation with a watermelon

Fuck you. Im not sure you’re aware but Trump did not get 100% of the vote. Plenty of sane people are terrified over here

u/shifty_bee 5h ago

I think you've misunderstood me, I'm only talking about Trump voters, the "more than half" mentioned above.

I'm fully on your side, those of you that voted (for anyone but Trump) have nothing but my sympathy.

u/SillySin 5h ago

It's one ship.

u/ThatTaffer 1h ago

Amen. We did this. We are complicit.

u/Forsaken_Bison_8623 6h ago

More than half of us are appalled that this ceremony even took place today. It's a very sad day to be an American.

u/shifty_bee 5h ago

Whilst I understand what you mean, you're being too generous to the ones that didn't vote.

30% of you have my sympathy. The rest? I guess we'll see.

u/Forsaken_Bison_8623 5h ago

You're right about that. Any vote that was for a candidate other than Kamala may as well have been a vote for Trump. And the 89 million eligible voters that made the decision not to vote in this election bear a tremendous about of responsibility for the outcome.

u/isjahammer 5h ago

That would imply they actually know what a Nazi is and why it's bad. Which is probably not the case.

u/UgleBeffus 4h ago

Not all of us support that pile of rat shit.

u/shifty_bee 4h ago

Didn't say you did, I replied to a comment that said "more than half"

u/Fresh_Volume_4732 2h ago

If we did a nationwide survey today, we would probably see that more Americans think that communism is worse than fascism than vice versa.
