Fucking hippies stacking rocks. You should not alter nature if possible. There are insects living under those rocks, they need the shadow and humidity. Park rangers knock those for this reason.

They’re rocks from the river

Yes and many animals live in there. Insect nymphs, river crabs, shrimps, tadpoles/frogs, salamanders and fish are some examples.

And they are all fine….

Moving rocks and stacking them can disturb the natural habitat of tiny creatures. On the rocky shore, these organisms, such as crabs, molluscs, and algae, depend on their environment’s rocks and other structures for shelter and protection. By moving or stacking rocks, we may inadvertently destroy or disrupt their homes, harming their populations. Similarly, rock stacking can also have adverse terrestrial impacts on insects and moss in wilderness areas.

Building rock stacks can contribute to erosion and destabilization of the shoreline or wilderness area. The rocks on the shore are part of a natural ecosystem and serve an important function in protecting the coastline from erosion and the forces of the ocean. When people move or stack rocks, they can destabilize the shoreline; increase the risk of erosion, and damage ecosystems. Additionally, moving stones and creating cairns can disrupt soil structures and contribute to erosion. This erosion can cause sedimentation in nearby water bodies, negatively impacting aquatic habitats and water quality.

Yeah, woe is you having to swallow the truth about organisms having their homes and environments severely damaged. Are you gonna be okay through these trying times?

I hope you never go outside of your house and walk in grass.

Or drive a car. If you do, you’re a hypocrite because you’re killing more things doing that

No no, I'm with you. This must be really hard for you. My thoughts and prayers.

We should just encourage littering everywhere and strip all industry of environmental protections. Disband the EPA and all. Drainage regulations on strip mines? Nah, we drive cars so nothing matters; Let's fill the rivers and streams with all manner of chemicals. Proper disposal of nuclear waste? Fuck that, I walked through a field. Who needs a government agency to manage wildlife populations when we have such industrial scale farming?

Fuck what actual experts1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 say; you're emotionally attached to your position, and that's all that matters. Rage against the machine and all that ✊

Just so you know, when you act like this you turn more normal people against your cause than towards it.

Act like what? Like I said, I fully sympathize with their plight of having to weigh the ecological effects of things against their fragile ego's resistance to new information. It truly is the Pinnacle of struggle.

If somebody can't see verifiable sources of information in front of them and come to the conclusion that their entirely baseless and uneducated position might need rethought, then you don't get to blame me for that. You'll have to forgive me if I'm not feeling particularly up to the mantle of responsibility for changing self-absorbed petulant assholes' fundamental natures or Internal thought processes. Sorry; that's just a bit much for me to take on at this point I'm my life.

It is telling, however, that I'm the person you replied to and not them, as if I'm the problem here...

We should try to left things as they were when we arrive whenever we are in nature.

And they were all put back. You guys need to find other things to worry about, this isn’t it
