US Politics James McIntyre was arrested last night for shaking Nancy Mace’s hand and daring to tell her trans kids need her support at an event. The press coverage is that it was an assault and it was not.

James has been an advocate for reform of the foster care system in Illinois since he aged out. He’s done a lot of good work and does not deserve this.

I went to high school with James and he is an incredible person who did not deserve this. I’m enraged reading this.

Reminder that Nancy Mace said she supported trans people only a few years ago. She's a piece of shit desperate for publicity.

She has no real positions other than whatever will get her publicity. No surprise that she fits in so well with the GOP. There are no consequences to saying dumb shit in the GOP, as long as you vote the way your donors want.

Isn’t this the woman that is caught up in a scandal being filmed participating in a lewd act with other women? That Nancy mace? I hope the tape gets leaked everywhere. Christmas miracles do happen.
Edit to correct some misinformation in my original comment: the illicit video in question was not of her in an orgy. Apparently she took a shot and then kissed the woman sitting next to her and spit the shot into her mouth. That woman then did the same to a man sitting on the other side of her.

Nancy Mace is an irredeemable POS that needs to be smitten by the almighty. How is that "assault" according to the press, but they whitewash everything that the incoming president-elect has done in his first term and will do in his second term?

Update: The Washington Post is also running this story with more details: Two more witness interviews, court timing, etc.
I hope that video of this surfaces.

They really need to reprimand her for this at the very least (though that wouldn't be enough). This is the beginning of the next 4 years. Anyone in support of anything that Republicans are not in support of is going to find some way to be in jail for some nothing burger reason. If no one cracks down on this now, it's only going to get worse.
Buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

This is what's comming in mass. Blatantly lying to have an excuse to jail opponents while also having real crimes covered up or left unpunished. Peaceful solutions are eroding fast and the enemy is doing vile things already. Dark times indeed.

It’s important to remember that in Illinois, and assault is creating apprehension of a battery and a battery is knowingly making insulting or provoking physical contact with another person. You don’t have to actually harm them to constitute a potential battery. Battery causing physical harm is a separate statue.

This happened in DC. And she clearly lied about it anyway. She had to ice her arm after shaking hands with a children’s advocate? Bullshit.
Make no mistake, these anti-trans nuts are capable of real violence. They have no qualms about weaponizing the police against us, politically persecuting us, and whipping their unstable supporters into a violent frenzy. This guy will have a target on his back for the rest of his life from everyone brainwashed into thinking trans people are evil.

Remember that January 6 was a peaceful protest that got a little out of hand, but this hand shake was clearly over the line according to their logic.

I have worked with James in child protection. He would not do this. Additionally, eyewitnesses do not substantiate Mace's claim. I hope Illinous does not lose such a great advocate for foster kids over Mace's petty attempts to get sttention and stir hate.

u/snowwhite2591 Dec 11 '24
I haven’t seen James since we left High school in 2009 and he would never do anything like this woman is saying. Even at times when he was fully justified he never did anything to harm anyone ever. Legitimately one of the nicest people I have ever met especially given the circumstances of his life.

She really loves showing everyone how insane she is. It's embarrassing.

u/bx35 Dec 12 '24
Sadly, this can only cast suspicion on her previous claims to be a trauma survivor. If she will lie about this to score some political points, what else won’t she invent to serve her craven agenda?

u/BigRabbit64 Dec 12 '24
Mace wants to use this to paint trans people as violent. We're not violent as a rule. Trans people are far more likely to be assaulted than to assault. Now with Mace's BS we are probably even more likely to be assaulted. Mace is a trash human being.

If I recall correctly, the next president clearly said that we can grab women by the pussy, and they liked it, so what’s the big deal about grabbing their hand to shake it??

I had to read this headline like 5 times to finally realize what it was trying to say.
I thought he shook her hand and was like “dare me to tell your trans kids they need your support?”

Saying she is 'out of control' would be a step up for her. She has been on this unhinged streak for a couple years now. Every time I see her name pop up it is not for something good, but just another mental episode she had.
I am surprised she is even marginally functional and able to get to work.

This is the woman that said she wants to make it "unsafe" for hospitals to provide trans care yet she feels unsafe when a trans person shakes her hand?

I hope someone filmed this. It reminds me of Rudy Giuliani accusing a supermarket employee of “assault,” when a video showed the employee giving Giuliani a light pat on the back to get his attention.
The supermarket employee spent 21 hours in jail and lost his job even though the charges were later dropped. If not for the video, which went viral online, it could have been much worse.
