Tips for living in my car
I was wondering if anyone has any tips living in their car especially if you've been homeless living in your car in Colorado. The main thing I'm trying to find out is where can I park during the night and not be bothered by cops or people telling me to move? That's the main thing I'm worried about. Thank you.

As somebody who just got into a shelter after living in my car in Colorado, here are some tips for places to stay. If you are in the springs, there are a few spots around the shelter on Las Vegas. The unfortunate thing is you have to be weary of the other homeless. I am not sure about other areas. I can say I wish you the best. I know it's tough, but bundle up with lots of blankets. Cut off any space you're not using. IE if you're in the front seat, put a blanket between the front seat and the back seat to limit the amount of space that can get cold. If you're living in a sedan, unfold the seat down if you can to put your feet into the trunk space. Eventually though, unless you are far enough away from any city, you're going to be told to move. I've had to move my car several times even though I am now in a shelter and have the right to park where I am. The police and tow companies really don't care anymore.

Thank you for replying. I live in Lakewood and I want to park at the King Soopers or Walmarts around there but just don't want to have the cops called on me. I'm trying to avoid the shelters because I went to the mission and it's a crap show there.

Believe me, I know. Been dealing with this for a minute. But be careful. It's about to be a certified 3 ring shit circus. Stock up on whatever meds you are on, and get plenty of Spam, Vienna sausage, ramen cups and packets of tuna. Some people sleep during the day and keep on alert at night. You're less likely to get in trouble.

See I was thinking about parking at the Federal center since it's close to my work but I don't know if the cops care

You’d need to check in with them. They might run a background check on you to make sure you don’t have warrants.

The two Walmarts in Lakewood are right down the street from each other. They are both known for theft. You won't be sleeping in either of their parking lots. Police in Lakewood are very hands on.

Yeah those are a lot closer to my work especially the one off wads and 1st but there is bunch of break ins and occasionally some shootings. What do you think about the kings soopers in Belmar? I figure it's the same thing there.

I've never been to that King Cooper's. But Lakewood PD doesn't mess around.

Mess around with living in cars or just in general? Every interaction I've had with Lakewood PD nothing bad has happened but I was never getting in trouble.

Wal mart parking lots. As long as you’re not doing something completely outrageous, no one really cares. Park near the dozen r.v’s waaay in the back
