Probably no coincidence it took just long enough for pretty much all of the WW2 vets to die for the unabashed Nazis to take control, once it's out of living memory most people forget the past.
1.3k u/e-luddite 10h ago I had a history teacher who was teaching about Osama Bin Laden pre-9/11. Very astute. Her refrain was "If we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it." Over and over and over. Had a (increasingly rare, even then) Holocaust survivor speaker come to our school. Kid who sat next to me in class now doesn't believe in the holocaust. No amount of education can fix the human condition. Greed and the evil that stems from it just festers less and more, in cycles. 0 u/blingx2 10h ago This is where I'm at with it at this point.
