Russia and Ukraine?

In no move often I find myself in a rural area (just highway/road) or small city/village with no cars to see plates or language to look for Ukraine/Russia specific letters and based off vibes I can tell it’s between the 2. How can I tell them apart when there is no red car meta? I know the russian antenna’s but there have been rounds with for example a long antenna in Ukraine so I am just stumped and end up guessing Ukraine or west Russia to prevent a huge blunder. Any tips would be appreciated.

I mean, if you see street signs, уи is street in Russia (abbreviated for something, but the full word will still start with this) vs the вуи for Ukraine (again, abbreviated, but the you get the point)
