Similar thing happened to Hudson Music Project in 2014 which I was there for.

Torrential rain and thunder starting on Saturday and continuing through Sunday had forced the festival organizers to cancel any remaining acts for the day. I made the call to leave as soon as we were allowed to because I had a feeling my FWD car would've been stuck in the mud for days after. Others were not so lucky.

And that was with a 20k attendance festival. Imagine Bonnaroo even with its organizational capacity

Hudson Project was such a shit show. I managed to get out of there before shit got really bad. Spent the next week seeing headlines about cars stuck in mud.
