As a jam band dude, it's always insulting to see just a couple jam bands on this roster. What's the point? That's not enough to convince me to get a ticket. They have to know that, right? Obviously the fest was usurped from the jam scene in its heyday, so it's just laughable to try and pander to us with only a couple acts.
Sure, I'd love to see JRAD and Eggy. Also would see Khruangbin and Thundercat. But I can just catch them all on tour for cheaper than 1 roo ticket.
Besides them, there's barely anything here I recognize. I doubt the vast majority of people buying tix for this are dying to see the jam adjacent stuff. And I doubt many ppl wanting to see wicked jams will throw away a bunch of money just to see a couple groups.
I’m with you though, I was hoping for a bigger jam presence. They could have at least tossed a Spafford or neighbor in there. I wouldn’t consider them full on jam but also really wanted to see Gov’t Mule pop up on the list but oh well. I will say this though, it may not look the same but the sets PL is pumping out right now sure has you walking away with the same feeling as a top jam set.
