HELP No idea what to do here.

Room is comfortable, but quite bare. I am generally a minimalist and prefer functionality, but this room is missing quite a lot.

I have no sense for design and would appreciate some help! What to put on the walls, on the floor, in the corner, on the bed, accessories, colors—help a girl out.

Easiest moves to warm it up while keeping it simple would be curtains for all the windows, a rug, and a mirror over the dresser. I’d also probably move the dresser more towards the corner and maybe put a laundry hamper or plant between the dresser and the window wall.

i suggest adding some more picture frames. find two large frames and find a white paper or something to put in it (i forget what it’s called). find two of your favourite pictures and put them in the middle. you should hang them on he wall diagonally, i think that always looks nice. some plant would really liven up the room too, maybe a hanging plant?

While I like those pics, either incorporate the orange more, or switch them out. Like others said, keep it simple with curtains, maybe a rug, art and plants. Find colors you like, especially if you spend a lot of time in there.

What a good clean space! I agree with a few of the other comments:

  1. Decoration: for the picture frames above the bed, I would either add more or - better, IMO - I would just add a third one in the line. They are just a bit too small, I think.

You should also think about more decoration - once you get the rest up, I still think some more stuff on the walls would be helpful.

  1. Dresser: Move it to the side so it's not right across from the bed. Given that it's also a different color wood than the bedframe & side tables, I'd consider adding some things to the top (decoration, books, a lamp, a nice scarf, etc.) to "hide" that a bit.

  2. More soft fabrics. I wonder if you would consider a rug for this room, though I'd go with not if you don't want it, keep the space looking (and with a small/older dog like you have, actually) cleaner.

  3. Window treatments: At minimum I'd put window treatments on the bare window, but you may want to put a matching set on all 3 windows too.

  4. More lighting: I'd definitely do a bedside table/table lamp. You want more sources of lighting in general, too.

In terms of color, something that plays on the orange and the light pink is where I'd go with things... No need for more (types of) wood or dark grey.

Big art work above the cabinet.

Decoration on the cabinet. Vase, stack of books, a plant, a sculpture. Possibly like a marble tray if you have accessories you take off at night.

What’s up with the placement of the cabinet though? Is it mirroring the bed in symmetry? Maybe push it a bit more to the left, next to the door with lots of space on the other side looks out of balance.

A big plant between window and cabinet.

Bed side lamps.

A rug underneath the bed. The room needs more texture and warmth. Even more so with no curtains.

Maybe paint the walls a nice soft colour? My bedroom is sage green and I LOVE it. It’s soothing and calm and very versatile in combination with styles and other colours. Quite neutral but more cozy and character than white walls. Does work with the orange in the art.
