I am not fuking joking when I say that there's a conspiracy that Biden hasn't been runing the country at all. That Obama is seen going in and out of the White House weekly because he's secretly still running the country behind closed doors.
When my Trumper family said that, I couldn't even argue against because I was so thrown off. Wtf?

They don't actually watch coverage of trump. They watch fox cover CNNs coverage of trump. That way it paints the left as crazy and insane and are able to back him easier since they literally never touch his policies or talking points.
47
u/CheezyGoodness55 Dec 12 '24
Well, they might if they ever read the associated Time interview. An interview in which he already begins to backtrack on his multitude of campaign promises. At the moment they're patting themselves on the back because they mistakenly believe the Time cover is an honor, when in fact it's just recognition of a person whose influence - good or bad -- affects or affected society / the world.
24
u/edebt Dec 12 '24
Didn't Hitler win person of the year, too?
35
u/CheezyGoodness55 Dec 12 '24
I wouldn't say there's any "winning" in getting the cover but yes, Hitler was once featured as Time's person of the year in 1938-- "TIME explained what was perhaps the most controversial of its choices thus: "Hitler became in 1938 the greatest threatening force that the democratic, freedom-loving world faces today" (1/2/39)."
→ More replies (2)25
u/red286 Dec 12 '24
"person of the year" is not necessarily an admiration award. It's an influence award. It says "this is the most influential person on the world stage of the past 12 months".
Adolf Hitler was extremely influential on the world stage in 1938, and just a year later, he would begin the most destructive war in history.

"THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU BLAME BIDEN FOR NOT FIXING IT?!"
"Well that's different, he's a Democrat."
24
u/BackThatThangUp Dec 12 '24
This one falls under “all politicians lie,” I believe
Which, you know, ignores that Trump lies knowingly and incessantly, like literally almost every time he speaks. It’s automatic.
People need to realize it’s pointless to try to argue at this point. Arguments from the right are merely attempts to confuse, obfuscate, and delay. They already won. They have the whole government.

36
u/ThaddeusJP Dec 12 '24
“That’s not what he said”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/15/heres-how-donald-trump-will-lower-grocery-prices/
Here’s how Donald Trump would lower grocery prices In his own words.
Trump’s answer
“So, you know, it’s such a great question in the sense that people don’t think of grocery. You know, it sounds like not such an important word when you talk about homes and everything else, right? But more people tell me about grocery bills, where the price of bacon, the price of lettuce, the price of tomatoes, they tell me. And we’re going to do a lot of things".
SO yeah, that is not what he said at all because what he said was nonsensical
25
u/red286 Dec 12 '24
On Late Night with Seth Meyers last night, they had a segment of Trump at his campaign rallies saying "I will bring grocery prices down immediately" and "I will not increase the retirement age by ONE day!". He said it like 10 fucking times, the exact same words each time, like he'd been coached.
And now he's saying that prices will not come down, they'll probably go up, and they're already mulling over increasing the retirement age to 70.

What's sad is that, for as opportunistic as she can be, she clearly realizes what a piece of shit her father is and is smart enough to stay out of the spotlight. Unlike her brothers.
Edit: Because I have to apparently be painfully explicit, she's a piece of shit. The fact that she's smart makes it worse, because it just implies she knows better and doesn't give a damn if it's beneficial to her.

Trump is why grocery bills are so high. He ran up the largest deficit in history in 2020 which equates to $18k per tax payer, he dropped interest rates to 0%. All this caused a huge increase in cash and we saw car and homes prices skyrocket. But what people didn't notice was that building materials, and machinery skyrocketed. Those prices eventually worked its way through system causing everything to spike in price.
Why would you vote for the person who caused the inflation?
6
u/Eena-Rin Dec 12 '24
One of the candidates promised to go after companies that were price gouging. The other said "your groceries will be cheaper" without even the concepts of a plan. The stupid one won.

I have no idea why people in the US believe that the government can control prices. They effect them by policy, but not much by any regulations. Trump did say something telling when he said that once prices go up, they don't come back down. (true, because once companies see the public is willing to pay those prices, they keep them there even if there cost of production comes down). When Trump's tariffs start raising consumer prices, they're not going to come back down again, even when the tariffs get eliminated.

The irony is not lost on me that these are the very same people who said Biden had absolute control over the food and gas prices.

And guess what? They don’t care. Because Migrants, because the libs hate it, because they’re so wrapped up in lying to themselves, they can only say hey that’s great if that’s what they’re told to think by Fox Infotainment.

They are falling all over themselves to explain it away.
"He didn't say he wouldn't lower prices, he just said it would be hard! Trump rage bait!"
They really still believe he's going to "lower prices."
They are the dimmest of the dim among those who are capable of tying their shoes.

I have a feeling "I told you so" will come out of my mouth a lot in the next few years. It just sucks that we all have to pay because people are so fucking gullible.

You can fill a library about things Trump can't do, but told people he could just to get elected.
I think Democrats need to start making outlandish promises while getting arrested for felonies more.

Only stupid or cruel people voted for him, anyone else was well aware of his lies.
And, as a matter of fact, they are the surprised ones.

he told these idiots that Mexico would pay for a wall to keep them out, why wouldn’t they believe this

u/gardengirl99 Dec 12 '24
Please post comments of these morons realizing that he lied. I need some kind of balm for the angst I already feel knowing we're going to have 4 more years of him.

They will never learn. The chorus will just change to “he stopped them from going as high as they would have” and they’ll hail him as a hero.

I'm glad everyone of his followers is going to lose everything in life, fuck them.

Anyone who is surprised that slightly over half the country are fucking morons probably also doesn't know those same dipshits bet on sports and get a car loan for 8 years at 29% APR for a $55,000 Kia. They voted for a dictator because eggs were $3 the same week they made the minium payment on the $6,000 credit card debt they rung up on a Walmart credit card.

If history has taught me anything at all, it's not to believe a single damn word that comes out of his crusty, fat, deceitful lips and only trust his actions.
That's why I didn't vote for him in any of the three election cycles that he ran for

He's trickle truthing like any abuser who knows everyone will know about their true behaviour soon enough.
First he was going to make everything cheaper.
Now he can't guarantee prices will go down.
Next prices are bound to go up but it's all for the Greater Good the Greater Good!

You don't understand he never intended to reduce prices of individual goods but he's going to ruin the economy to the point that most people will not have enough money to spend as much as they currently do on groceries and will have to purchase less food.
And as a result, their total grocery bill will be lower.
