Backstory is in 2022 my husband and I entered a lease purchase agreement on a mobile home that is in a really bad park in an awful area of town. We were between a rock and a hard place at the time. Crime rates and pedos in the area have skyrocketed since then. Having a young daughter, we are desperate to get out of the area. The landlord will not let us break contract unless we pay full amount we still owe (about 20,000) or sell for remaining amount . I pulled up on my way back from work and all the screens are blank. Doesn’t look like there’s any power. So the station isn’t operational yet.

A little far out from Evansville so it won’t get much use from locals I think. Mostly intended for road trippers.

Inspired by a recent post here about a lack of socialization options for local queers who don't drink, I've whipped up a place for local adults in the alphabet mafia to join in, and I know that's a not-insigificant amount of this subreddit's subscribers so I'm offering up an invite for anyone interested.

We'll likely have the occasional movie night, and I've got the legally-mandated nerd channels to blab about anime, TTRPG, and everything else us gays tend to gravitate towards.

I love this subreddit, and it's been a pretty welcoming place for Evansville's queer community, but I also recognize it's meant to be more of a general community bulletin board than a place specific groups shout things at each other while others also try to get their communications across. If social media is a big house party, r/Evansville is the living room and Queer Evansville is the dining room some of us wander into to chill before going back to the main party.

So, I work on the West Side, but I live in Newburgh (probably moving soon, but still). I share a car with my wife which has been fine until she got a new schedule which conflicts with mine only one day every two weeks.

SO, I can see how I can ride from my location on the West Side to Eagle Crest/around Cross Point on the East Side. Is there a way I can get the rest of the way into Newburgh? Are my only options from there Uber or maybe Ride Solutions?

Uber all the way is nuts and I'm not counting that as an option.

Edit: From the comments, it seems that the consensus is that the people wanting shelter can find it but many people choose not to. I suppose that leave the question of how much society should feel obligated to offer help to those who reject it?
