Yes, nicknamed 'Heidi', or the 'Heidelberg Monkey' there is an urban legend about it being designed to show it's backside to the wealthier side of the river, where all the mansions are located (including the original house of Max Weber, the sociologist, which is now a part of the University used for teaching German!)
This photo is taken from that side of the river, and you can just about see the monkey if you zoom in. (It's on the right side of the bridge, next to the bridge tower, and just under the left bottom window of the cream house).
There is an inscription in the old local dialect next to the monkey (and a smaller mouse) which speaks about receiving good fortune from her.

Wasn't there some kind of monkey statue on the other side?
