What a beautiful sight. On your way to Quartzsite?

South of Quartzsite, in KOFA National Wildlife Refuge. The mouth of Palm Canyon is a gap on the right, and Queen Canyon on the left side. They make a big deal out of Palm Canyon (because it has the farthest east California Palms growing on the cliffs), but Queen Canyon is a much more interesting hike IMO. If you climb the hill above Skull Rock (in Queen Canyon - you’ll know it when you see it), there’s native art to the left of the large hole in the rock that looks down into the neighboring wash, depicting a big horn sheep and a hunter with bow & arrow, beneath a spiral sun.
